g5 mouse messing up
Ok so I have had my g5 for about a year I guess, maybe a little longer but anyways; the point is that I have had it for a while. Well recently it seems like the laser is slowing down, I can't move my mouse real fast or else the laser wont read it and the pointer will just like studder kind of.
You remember back in the day before these faster mouses. If you had an optical mouse, then you couldn't jerk the mouse real fast because the laser was not able to read it that fast.
well that is what is happening to my G5 it seems. Does anybody know what the cause of this is, or how I can fix it?
EDIT : upon further experimentation; if I move my mouse pad away, then the mouse moves as fast as it is supposed to. Since my mouse pad is red, then I think the problem is the mouse pad. K, well I solved my own problem, but how come it is just happening now? Whatever, I guess now it's time to buy a new mouse pad? lol

The mouse's led may be getting weak, or it could be the surface ( glass, marble, anything shiny or with many bumps and low spots). Do you have another mouse you can throw on there to see if it works?

Look up at my edit, I figured out that it was the mouse pad. I am just going to get a new mouse pad. What colors work best for laser mouses? If the color really does matter...

Anything that won't reflect multiple versions of the beam ( glass, bumpy surfaces) and anything that isn't of the beams color ( red).. go with a black or blue or grey to be safe.

where are some cheap places to get good mouse pads? I'm probably going to have to spend around $15.00 to $20.00 right?
