is there a rule?
Well today a guy on my team ran out of air. So i was like wana use my gun? He said ya so i gave it to him. After he gave it to me with a empty hopper (i gave it to him with a full pod in it). All i had was 3 pods on my back ( end of the day so i had no paint at all left). So i asked for my paint back. But is there a rule? If the person ask for a gun he pays it back. But if u volunteer your gun then he dose not have to pay it back?

You did offer it to him, but i agree it should be common courtesy to refill the hopper at least. I always refill pods/hoppers when this happens.

You use a guys paint and you are supposed to give it back.
When someone offers you the paint back, if it's the amount of a hopper or less, you are supposed to deny it out of courtesy if you offered the gun/pod to him.
If someone asks for paint, it must be repayed no matter what.
That's the rule fool.

Paint costs money, lending a gun so someone can finish a game does not cost money.
If someone gives me a gun with a hopper full, I fill it back up... if they give me one with half a hopper, I'll probably still fill it up... just cause they lent me a gun...
Honestly though I wouldn't be too anal about it... I'm usually the one lending the gun out, but asking for pods

Its common courtesy. At punter days it is quite often to have some kids with tons of paint and some with only a few balls.
I will gladly hand out a pod to some kid and not expect it to be returned. However I am always offered some return, or they will say they cannot give back as I offer it.
I am giving paint for my benefit and also trying to give a good experience to the kid to make sure he comes back another day.
But - Taking and not handing back or not making an offer is impolite to say the least, and I assume from your question you expected and asked for a return to receive no or a bad response. You saved him an unnecessary walk out, and if he didn't want your paint he could have returned your hopper and used his own.

It is common curtousy. Next time you should let him know before hand, you expect the paint returned also.

I like to pretend my marker is out of air just for fun. Then when someone lets me use their marker I hold it at the tip of the barrel with two hands like it's an axe and I swing it into the hardest object I can find several times. Then I give it back to the person and tell them it doesn't work.
Come on man, do threads like this even need to be created? The answer to your question is just common courtesy and common sense.

yeah its just common courtesy to give back paint that was someone elses. he's gotta remember you didn't HAVE to loan out your gun.
this is like when someone desperate borrowed my gun for a game because his
didn't work, then gave it back to me completely covered in paint because he got lit up, I was like "WTF, go clean it up fool!"

I think he should give you paint back.
One time, I gave some kid a pod. This was at the end of a big game and I was outta air and wasn't enough time for me to refill my tank.
However, on most circumstances, paint should be repayed.

I wouldn't expect paint back from a teammate or a friend, but it would've been considerate if he did repay it without you asking. I agree with pooling. Give one guy the money and he can buy paint for everyone.
