What years? Are we talking Montana, Clark, Rice, etc. vs the Steel Curtain, or the Stillas of 05 vs the 94 9ers?

Definatly the 9ers. Rice, Montana, Clark, Young, the list of HOF'ers for the 9ers is staggering, and they did it with offense and defense. The Stillas had some great players, but Bradshaw wasnt anything spectacular, if you went position for position, year for year, you'd end up with a ton more 9ers.
You didnt make this very easy either, the way you asked the question its going to be 50/50 and full of biased answers of fans from both sides. They are both very decorated franchises with tons of history, but I think the 9ers affected the NFL in general more, especially when you go back and look at the coaching tree that started under Walsh and the impact the west coast offense has had.

I would say Steelers as they were the first "dynasty" that played against worthy competition...But you will get bias reviews so I will keep to myself...

49er's ftw. My dad grew up watching them when they sucked, and then he witnessed all the lore of the Montana years, which was awesome. I'm a Bills/Colts/49er's fan myself, and I honestly have to say that the AFC title game last night was the first comeback I've witnessed in my lifetime that I've been on the winning side of. Other than the 49er's v. giants playoff game back in '03 when Garcia lead them back from 24 down. Of course, those were still the TO years...

Last night was a pretty amazing comeback. As well as that Giants/9ers game. Unreal. It could ultimatly go down as one of the greatest games in NFL history if the Colts win the superbowl

No love for the Cowboys? Come on man, Staubach, Pearson, Dorsett. Or later, Aikman, Irvin and Smith. But out of those 2 teams I would have to say the 49ers. With players like Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Ronnie Lott and others you can't go wrong. I also think the Raiders should be up there on all time Super Bowl teams.
