Wow, another thread filled with personal opinions running wild. A giant pissing contest of no solid evidence.

This thread should have ended at "you can't. /thread"

It wouldn't really be a discussion if it didn't involve personal opinion. The question is a bit narrow, but he obviously asked it for a reason, so thus it warranted discussion. Nothing to fret over.

Opinion based on religious beliefs
no offense to NicoleW. Just proving my statement

Personal opinion based on upbringing/religion.

imo-
There is no heaven, there is no hell, there is no limbo.

When you die, your soul doesn't "go" anywhere, this basic thought of your soul going somewhere else does not work, and goes back to early mans view of how earth was flat, with flood gates in the sky, holding back the rains, and heaven was above that. If you ask almost anyone "where is heaven" they will have some sort of belief to heaven being "up" This goes back to this basic belief that heaven is above us. But heaven, hell and limbo(doesn't apply to ->) are all made up basic beliefs that have been thought of by man kind from the beginning. I really wish I had a picture of the view of early earth and heavens.
I feel Heaven is the knowledge of our lives we have left imprinted in the people we have known and loved in our lives.
And Hell is just the opposite, people remembering our lives in a hateful/negative way.

As far as how do we know which religion is right, we don't. It is all personal belief, and/or the environment you where raised in. It doesn't really matter though. I feel the purpose of religion is to help us live better lives, not worry about what religion is the right religion.

Yes, PLEASE do...

Now, here is my question: Why believe in ANY of them if you can't prove them right? Just because it agrees with your ideology and cultural background doesn't make it the right religion.

People choose which religion they are grown up on/their culture is formed on/what suits thme best.

Im agnostic. I dont see how religion helps me in daily life. Theoretically, yes, but practically, No. You cannot prove one right. IMO, the only one that logically makes sense is Buddhism. It strived for self-improvement, not asking for forgiveness. You ahve to think before you act, and strive to be a better person, you cant sin and continually ask for forgiveness.

I went for church services for 5 years with my family. It didn't prove the religion to me.

By assuming that Christianity is the only correct faith, you're being just as close minded as you claim him to be.
