They are only 30 bucks and seem pretty good to me traction wise. Do most running stores have replacement spikes? How much do they usually cost?

My field has turf so I dont no how much those metal spikes will damage it. I have seen several people have have suggested these:

Im not sure how well those plastic spikes will grip. Also they look like they might wear out quickly and once that happens, I have to buy new cleats again.

plastic spikes grip fine, just have to replace them a bit more frequently. Nope you don't have to buy new cleats when they wear out. Just go to your local sports/running store and ask for plastic quarter inch spikes. They will give them to you and you will be able to use your spike turner and just take out the old ones and put in the new ones. Those nikes look farely nice, they have a toe plate so you will be on your toes. Get them depending on how you play. On your toes or on your full foot. It varies from player to player.

cool, I know this information from first hand experience. Plastic spikes might be a smidge harder to track down time and again, but find a local running shop and if you keep buying they will start to carry them. I know guys on my track team that prefer plastic over the metal, just because they are a smidge lighter. But with the how light the metal is what is .0001 oz? ha.

About how often will they last if I usually play once a weekend on turf?

I would say look at them and when the tips are worn a descent amount then change them. Pretty much when you are loosing your footing now and again then change them, but hopefully you can figure out when it is worn to the point of change before you start slipping.

Soulution to the illegal spikes in track cleats...

http://www.omni-lite.com/sports.php

They are ceramic, i know where i play the only reason the spikes are illegal is because they are metal, but i dont know if nppl is for the same reason. I still havn't ordered any since my cleats are fine without the spikes so i don't know how well they work..but i dont really see how they could be bad unless they are fragile..the prices arent bad either 100 for 20 bucks they are worth a try...i have found that pretty much no sporting goods stores carry these so i think you have to order them on line.
