Hey guys,
Well I finally got off my lazy butt and I just wanted to help out all the Legend owners and the soon to be owners. First off let me just say that I was so surprised how little maintenance these guns need and how simple it is to break the gun down.
Remeber I got a Prototype version of the Legends. Your guns will have cleaner milling, as well as different eye covers and eyes and other small changes..
Tools Needed:
Allen Keys
Lube ( Slick Honey, Dow 33, etc. )
Q-Tips
Paper Towels
First I am going to show you how to remove your Ram and lube the 1 moving o-ring found in the Legend.
Remove the back frame screw.
Remove the bolt. Clean off all debris on the bolt with a towel. You do NOT needs to lube the bolt so just set it aside for now.
Now using a small allen key push the ram housing back through the slot under the bolt.
Out pops the ram housing.
Now simply separate the Ram (silver part) from the Ram housing (black part).
Clean out the Ram housing ( black part ) with your Q-tip.
Now lubricate this o-ring. This is the only moving o-ring in your Legend.
Now remove the main spring from the Legend ( It should just slide right out ). Clean the spring if needed.
The spring goes back onto the Ram as pictured.
Insert the Ram assembly back into the gun. It helps to put a little bit of lube on the 3 o-ring on the outside of the ram housing to let it slide in easier. Make sure the holes on the Ram housing are facing down toward the bottom of the body.
Now screw the back frame screw back onto the gun. Make sure you push the Ram housing all the way in while tightening the rear frame screw as shown.
Now you can put your bolt back into the gun.
Eyes & Detent cleaning.
Remove your eye covers.
Remove the Detents from the slot. Clean from all debris.
Quote from manual: “Do not pull on the eye wires. Use a small pick or screwdriver to pop the eyes out of this slot. If necessary you can use a small Allen Wrench to push the eye out from inside the breech of the gun.”
Put the eyes back in their spot. Put the detents back in their spot then put the eye covers back on.
