Well as everyone in Texas probably knows, Kinky is running for governor. He's an independent and actually has a decent chance of winning. Anyone here voting for him besides me? (On facebook under election pulse he has 70% of the votes, of course most college kids are going to actually go out and vote)

He will not win. He is too controversial to win.

If you are counting on college students to win, you never win. Simple.

After all the campaigns I've worked on, you learn that college students are unreliable and usually vote in the major parties.

Further more, using a facebook "poll" as any real political guidance is silly....

The real polls show him at minimum 10 pts, down--that is losing. I am willing to bet his real loss is by much more than that. The polls in TX are going to widen, as the money will be spent by the repubs/dems and he will fall into the shadow.

I wonder why he has the young kids voting for him? Maybe because he "promises to legalize marijuana". And his reasoning behind it is because there are too many people in jails for those kind of charges and they need to make room in the jails for real bad guys. Straight off his website.

Real politicos know that old people and labor groups vote in the highest block, then affluent african americans and hispancis(affluent, not average), followed by middle class white males.

I did some volunteer work for the kinky campaign around this time last year. they're a good group of people, but I think a lot of those who jumped on early to support kinky to shake up the texas political system are now looking at Bell as the most valid candidate for governor.

It was amazing watching the Debates last week to see the differences in education and personality. My favorite moment was when Strayhorn was asked who the president of Mexico was and she didnt know the answer.

I was going to vote for kinky, but I think Bell is the pony to bet on

I loled when someone said he was racist or that was part of the quesiton and he was like...I was raised by a black woman (he was serious in case it sounds like he wasnt).
