very good thread. strangely i knew most of this already since im an oldschool baller. although the abbreviations were nice to have explained since i havent played pump much since the early 90's. been playing with superguns and only break out the pump just to piss off the newbies/more money means more better people or when i get a bug up my butt or feel like playing all day for cheap. pumps do all that stuff sooooooo well. although i was under the impression that stock class meant 12grams and stick tubes with no autotrigger and anything else was "modified" stock class?(whatever you want to call it) because direct feed and constant air arent "stock class". i remember back in the day you could get a cocker conversion for your nelson based gun, but now im looking for a pump conversion for my cocker. i got an electro i love, still love my cocker, but my original (pmi not aci)trracer sucks cause it obliterates balls. and having a cocker i can use for both would just rock.

if you can find a pump kit for one you cant put a standerd pump kit on them you have to have one custom made

or...you can find a used cocker in the b/t/s thread. and get a pump kit for that.
a lot easier, and maybe cheaper then buying a new trilogy, and less hastle for
sure

so im low on money and i need to sell my t1 (in sig) and i want a sturdy, lowmatinence, yet smooth pump, i was thinking a sniper2, but do you have to time it, and is there any other pump that is pretty cheap. I just got a new tank from my parents like the only paintball related gift i have, so i would like to use that. thx

Ok, I'll add a little to this thread.

Azn shocker noob - Maverick/trracers use maverick/trracer threading, its not super common anymore. SP use to make barrels for them, so did Armson, so if you look around you can find one. JJ still makes them brand new today, you can pick up a 12" or14" ceramic for about $50 new. I have one for my maverracer(mutt built from spare parts) and its nice.

PeasnutWA - Sl68 use a non threaded design if I remember right, its also used by the 68special. JJ makes a ceramic for them too. This i would like a double check on though as I have never owned one.

*************** - I converted my cocker to a sniper, its damn nice. No timing is involved, the timing is part of the autococking pneumatics, you wont need to deal with that if its a pump. Its a real nice setup but it is heavier than most other pumps though it is very sturdy. The best part of it is the readily available parts for it. Barrel kits, valves, bolts, random parts etc. can be found just about anywhere.

is there a reason why on a phantom w/o air on it When i pump it back and pull the trigger It sounds as if the sear catches nothing and lets go of nothing? Ive seen this on more than one phantom in different places

most nelsons wont cock and release without air to keep the valve close.

Will a phantom run on LP? I have a 45/45LP tank and wanted to use it in case i go from VSC to modified sc. If it can't i have a 9oz for backup so its not that big of a deal.

Neg, low pressure isn't enough to operate a Phantom. I suppose if a guy wanted to totally respring it and probably machine out a new hammer etc it could be done, but I'm not sure you could get the velocity you would need.

HPA/CO2 only for Phantom.
