Exclamation My two new magnet mods!

Well, the other night I had nothing else to do, so I decided to find out a way to to do a different magnet mod that looks a little more hidden, and that works better. So I came up with this...

MOD ONE:

Supplies Needed:

1. A strong glue, such as super glue or gorilla glue. (I didn't have any super glue or gorilla glue, so I had to use a hot glue gun. I do not reccomed it, because it will come off sooner or later, because glue from a hot glue gun dosn't work well with metal. I reccomend Gorilla glue.)

2. Magnets. I used magnets from a toy that connects links to metal balls. About the same as rare earth magnets.

How this mod works: The magnet attracts the top set screw, so it pulls it back faster than without a magnet. It is still very much walkable.

Steps:

1. Screw in the top set screw on your trigger almost all the way, so when you fit the trigger with the magnet in, it will fit.

2. Take a magnet and attach it to the top set screw of you trigger. It should looks like this.

3. Put glue on the back of the magnet and move the trigger into its slot and set the trigger pin in, not all the way, but enough to move your trigger.

4. Push your trigger out so it sticks the glue on the magnet against the trigger frame. When it's done, it should look like this.

5. Let the glue dry, then its ready!

MOD TWO:

WARNING: IF YOU HAVE THE STOCK TRIGGER, YOU WILL HAVE TO MILL OFF SOME OF THE TRIGGER TO MAKE THE MAGNETS FIT!

This mod is very similar to the previous mod, but uses two magnets for a stronger reaction.

How this mod works: The two magnets attract each other, allowing for a much faster return than without magnets. It returns much faster than mod one, but makes your trigger pull a little bit heavier. It is still very much walkable though.

I reccomend Gorilla glue)

2. Two Magnets. I used magnets from a toy that connects links to metal balls. About the same as rare earth magnets.

Steps:

1. Screw your top set screw ALL the way in until the end of the set screw sits flush with the rest of the trigger. Glue one magnets to the end of the set screw. Should look very similar to step 2 in mod one.

1a. This is an alternative step that dosn't have you have to glue the magnet to the set screw incase you mess up and accidentially glue the set screw stuck into the threads. Just do the same as step one, but just glue the magnet below the set screw hole.

2. Take another magnet and attract it the the magnet that is glued to the set screw. It should look like this.

WARNING!DO NOT GLUE THE MAGNET ON THE PART OF THE SET SCREW WHERE YOU INSERT YOUR ALLEN WRENCH. YOU WILL GLUE THE HOLE SHUT AND YOU WONT BE ABLE TO ADJUST YOUR TRIGGER! TAKE YOUR SET SCREW OUT AND USE THE OTHER SIDE!

3. Put glue on the back of the magnet that is farthest out and move the trigger into its slot and set the trigger pin in, not all the way, but enough to move your trigger.

4. Push your trigger out so it sticks the glue on the magnet against the trigger frame. When it's done, it should look like this.

5. Let the glue dry, then its ready!

WARNING! I did this mod with an FBM trigger. I am not 100% sure if the magnets will fit with a stock trigger.

I just did it with the stock trigger, took some work removing just a bit of materal from the orginal trigger, but after that and a little super glue, it works perfect. Nice mod.

With the stock trigger it doesn't seem to make much of a difference for me, but it works. I think it would be better if I took some material off like the poster a few posts up.

Ok, so with the stock trigger, you have to millof some for mod 2 and you don't have to mill anything off for mod 1? LMK if this is wrong.

That seems right. I did mod 1 and it fits but I didn't notice much of a difference . I might just suck at adjusting my trigger though. My problem is there is no back stop screw so i end up having the trigger so far back after a few seconds that it never lets the switch release.
