My ion using way too much Air!!!!????

Hey guys i got my ion in the mail this afternoon and I installed the QEV and everything and I went to shoot it and it was working great!!!! I lowered my dwell down to 14 with the SP360 QEV and I went out to shoot some more and I did not even get through a bag of paint "500 balls" I shot maybe around 300. I am wondering if this is normal or if there is something else i need to check to see if it is working properly. I am using a 48/3000 HPA tank so if that helps.

please respond because I need help lol i cant even play a game of paintball only shooting 300 balls a fill....

Guide to finetuning Dwell:

You got 300 out of a full tank. Sounds wrong. Listen really hard and check for small leaks as well.

Hey Kolder thanks for the help but I was susing that page to adjust it I took the dwell all the way down and worked my way up from there one by one and then when It finally cycled at 8 clicks from bottom, then I clicked it 4 more times like the guide said. tell me if I am doing anything wrong but I know that there are no leaks because I took the gun "partially apart" soo I could look and listen to all the hoses but still the same thing....... also could it be a proble with the tank I dont know if this is normal but When I shoot the little needle on the guage on the tank jiggles alot back and forth.

A dwell of 14 with the SP 360 is pretty good. If you have no leaks there is not much more I can suggest. It is very odd to only get 300 off of a 48/3000 though. Are you sure the tank was completely filled?

yeah I mean it was at like 3200 orso but when it cooled off it was right on the dot

i guess I could try raising the dwell alittle bit?.... like is it possible that I have the dwell too low and it is using too much air?

The lower the dwell the better air efficiency.

I still think there must be a leak somewhere.

What is your Input pressure?

When I had my 47/3000 tank I only got like 350 shots with my dwell at 15 with a 360 QEV... Sell the tank and get a 4500 PSI tank. Go with CrossFire, they have the best recharge rate..

yeah that is what the guys up at the local proshot told me as well. It is a shame that I have to figure it out the hard way because that is just a waste of 60 bucks buying the steel tank .... anyway kolder thanks agai for your help I love reading your comments becasue they are very helpful and to thepoint thanks again guys.
