Consistency, I know I need to raise the dwell, but how much
I am having a bit of problems with consistency, and I want to know how much you would recommend raising my dwell if I am getting around +/-7, before anyone says get a barrel kit or a better reg, I already have a full freak kit and an aka 2 liter reg
Any other suggestions please say, also I don’t have any paint at home nor do I have a chronograph to check the results, so before I go to the field I would like a recommendation just to help time issues when I get there

yea what bolt are you using? is the reg fully broken in? what paint is it? crappy paint, even in a nice barrel, can still cause bad chrono readings. and where is your dwell set right now?

currently using an evolve bolt, and yeah its been broken in over atleast 10 cases, the paint whilst yes isnt fantastic stuff, aint that bad, since on my ion with the same freak inserts gets +/-3
also the dwell is currently set at 19 clicks on a virtue board (19ms)

What does it mean when you say "is the reg fully broken in"?

it means the reg is broken in and now will have better recharge. like when you break in a new pair of shoes they get streched and and are now more comfortable. The inside of the reg becomes broken in. thats the best i can describe it

CP's usually take 8 cases to be fully broken in. Or yo can just shoot alot alot alot of air through it. also lube the reg good.

you shoot your gun with air / paint, like when your warming up a car your going to need to turn it on and drive it for a few thousand miles for the motor to break in, basically you need to shoot your gun with air or paint for the reg/bolt to warm up. if you get what im trying to say

Well, I haven't lubed it since I bought it from my friend. I just downloaded the manual from the cp website about how to lube it and it looks like such a pain in the ***. Anyways, I'll probably relube it during the weekend when I have some time. And when you said "clean it", do you mean clean off the old lube before relubing or something else?

no drop off and FSDO are too different things. Drop off is when your shooting fast and your regulator cant keep up. FSDO is when your 1st shot dosent have enough air to shoot. That can be solved with a new bolt and a higher dwell time. But remember its normal for a shocker to get FSDO even with a new bolt.

you are getting a decent consistency, you have nothing to worry about expecially if its got anything new in it
