Thinking of Joining the Family

I've always admired the AKA Family and how supportive everyone is here not to mention the AKA company itself. I'm weighing my options right now and really want an AKA marker. I see a lot of good deals for Vikings but have a chance at owning an Excalibur. I want to customize it with milling and upgrade either one to the max. My question is which would be better to do and easier to maintain (not that these are hard to maintain anyways according to the forums)? I don't know anything about AKA markers but read that Excaliburs are more complicated due to dual solenoids. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance to all that give quality advice.

they are both sick guns both relativly fast, both easy to maintain little lube after you play. itll come down to which you like better, and what you can find, and how much your willing to pay.

Currently, there are more milling options for a Viking than for an Excalibur. Actually, now that JMJ has stopped milling markers, you can only get a Viking milled. Of course, you could always just buy an Excalibur or a Viking that is already milled and just have it reanodized.

Generally, once you get the Excalibur set up properly, which is quite easy, everything should be great. As long as you do not fool around with the settings, you shouldn't have any problems. You may want to invest in either a barrel kit, get a widgit installed by PPS or just use some electrical tape to prevent rollout.

From what I can tell from your grammar and friendly attitude, you will fit right in the family. Good luck getting what you want.

If you haven't seen it already www.yeppers.com is having some killer sales at the moment. I just picked up a RAW half mill 04 excal myself, it should be here saturday. I'm also considering getting some milling done (only in hidden areas for weight savings) but that depends on the amount of weight I can shave off vs. cost. Good luck with whatever gun you decide to pick up!

Thanks for everyone's responses, info, and opinions. I had one more question. It was posted above that milling can only be obtained through DC now because JMJ has discontinued working on Vikings and Excaliburs. Does that mean DC will not work on Excaliburs if I get one. If I get an Excal I plan on trying to get some similar milling done to it as I have seen on the DCSL-1 if possible. That thing is crazy milled and beautiful. If not, then I will lean towards the Viking.

DC mentions that they do excal milling but I am not sure to what extent. I am getting an 04 half mill which is fairly rare(according to yeppers.com only 5 were made) so if I want to get milling its going to be hidden and strictly for weight savings. Check out DC's gallery. I am fairly sure I saw some milled excals in there.

DC dosen't mill excals yet. They plan on it in the future. The person working on the code got in a major car accident and it is delayed a little bit.

Oromero,

Funny you should mention that. I'm also working another deal for an 06 Cyborg right now so I might be part of the AKA and MacDev families. I think
I've had enough of the big companies.

I've been nothing but happy with my AKA. I even came from a freestyle, and the change in weight was nothing compared to the change in performance.
