Do you practice Professional Courtesy?
If a fellow field owner comes to paly at my field, I always give them a discount and if I know them let them play for free. Do you practice professional courtesy at your field?

Of course. This way, when the other owner comes across a player that can no longer make the trip to his field, he may recommend that the player check out your field. It also supports friendly competition, instead of a "who can accept greater financial losses from lower pricing" competition.

at the store i work at we tell the players about all of the fields even though they all have proshops of thier own. when the other store/field owners come in we always give them the kindness/respect that we would give to all of our customers. I would rather see the friendly competetion than the loss.

Absolutely. Just because we are "competitors" doesn't mean we can't be friends. My closest competitor is about 15 minutes away. If he needs to borrow rental set-ups for a large group, I loan them to him - and he does the same for me. Same thing for paint, CO2, etc., if one of us has an awesome day and runs short. Another field owner loaned me two huge pop-ups and his air compressor for my Dynasty clinic last weekend. We all help each other out, listen to each other's complaints and congratulate each other on accomplishments. Isn't that the way it should be?

Always - all of us know how little we actually get to play and enjoy ourselves. We had over a 100 field and store owners at our Spring Castle event last month

I 100% agree. I doubt it always works that way though, there always has to be someone to be the jerk,

At the field i work at the owner tells us we can't play at other fields or support other fields in any way shape or form unless its for a tournament. My team is sponcered by draxxus so we get any procaps paint we want at cost yet he still wants us to shoot pmi even tho its he sells us premium for 35$ a case yet i can shoot xball silver for 31$ even hellfire for 41$. But i agree with the rest of you.

I don't quite think that's right. I'm pretty sure he can't control what you do when you aren't on the clock.

The thing is, the fields that are jerks to other fields portray that to their customers as well. There was a place two cities over that took the us or them stance. Notice i was WAS a field. When players were forced to choose, they chose to go where everyone is friendly and doesn't trash talk other fields.

It is business suicide to badmouth or even get a negative attitude toward the competition. Negativity spreads like wildfire through a business and before you know it the people working with the customers are being jerks too.

I used to ref for a guy that was that way. His business went under and he didn't keep refs very long.
We really don't have other fields in the area, but I've gotten one or two calls from parents wanting to throw a party, but are going to be driving 2 hours to us. I'll normally find them a much closer place that I know is just as good.
