For a remote system it's the only way to go in my opinion. Basically it's a slider mechanism that cuts the airflow at the end of the remote. If you push it forward, it feeds air, pull it back and it cuts it. This allows you to remove the hose from your gun anytime you want without having to degas your remote or turn off your tank.
If you run a tank on gun, then there is no need for a slide check.
