SL66 Software Version and board Q?
Hi;
Can anyone from the Planet Eclipse kindly anwer my question.
I recently purchased a SL66. On boot up, it says 2.04.
How does this new software compare to the current 06 EGO 2.00
software. What were the changes made to the new software and
if there are any advantages for having this software.
Secondly, I thought one of the advantages to his new marker was that it came with a board with a micro switch and not the standard optical switch.
My SL66 comes with the optical switch. Is this a future upgrade or is this feature even available?
Any response would be greatly appreciated
Thank You

I have never seen where it said micro switch.
I believe Eclipse will continue with it the way it is.

You'll need to buy an aftermarket board to get a microswitch... They're ALL opti-switches stock... It costs a lot money to replace a significant part of a board even something as small as a switch. Same reason PE uses LCD boards when LEDs are significantly cheaper. It'd cost alotta money to swap over.
The software won't be significantly greater... maybe a little better eye logic or something, but nothing you'd notice.

As I understand the boards are very similar the main difference probably being that you see XSV when you load up rather than EGO.

Version 2.04 fixes a small bug in Version 2.00 which corrupts the filter settings if the Select button is pressed twice whilst 'CUSTOM' is displayed as the Debounce setting. There are no other changes in Version 2.04.
Our thanks to PBXballa216 for isolating and reporting this bug to us.
The XSV SL66 comes with a trigger spring and no magnet, the preferred setup of the team after which the marker is named. None of the Eclipse Ego boards have a microswitch and, as Bill pointed out, none have been advertised as such. This feature is not available from Eclipse but is available on a number of aftermarket boards.
Hope this helps.

I don't understand the reason for totally eliminating the magnetic trigger return. I would think it would be nicer if it was still an option, and have the ability to remove the set screw to eliminate the magnetic return. Then at least users will still have the ability to change the return based on their own preferences, with or without magnetic return. I know on my star frame, the setup of my trigger relies mostly on the spring, but the slight magnetic return makes it snappier and smoother.
