I talked with the guy at HB, and it will not be coming with a cp reg or a proto barrel. they are going to make there own reg/barrel.

I don't mind it not coming with the Proto barrel, but the lack of the CP reg is a little disappointing.

to all those who want the really really cool version of the legend... well wait more than a month and those who might have bought the normal legend will think i should have bought this one instead
and yea infinty will be making there own line of barrels and regs for the infinty and the grips and frame may be different wen on sale in a month so im told!
also the feedneck may be changed and this is y there weren't selling the legend at hb

I dont understand some companies. They need to sell guns directed to the consumer and what "we" want. Most people do not care about a barrel if its good or bad. We all have our favorite barrels we stick on all of our guns. Regs.. if its a crummy stock reg we will just swap it out with one to our liking. So either make the stock reg a brand name reg or at least on the inside. Or make your own in house reg be the most top of the line reg. Feed neck??? smaller shorter the better. Most people prefer no rise and low rise ccm's or bart parts.
Stock barrel who cares.. its a paperweight unless its a ultralight.
Stock reg make it name brand
Stock feed nec CCM/Bart Parts
Sell it at a competitive price compared to other markers out there... you have a winner.

How am I a fool? Ultralights are the most common barrels used by "other" companies. Huge name Huge reputation... The majority of people ditch stock barrels and switch to Ultralights... That isnt a "bias" opinion.. its fact. My point was if it dosnt come stock with a brand name reputable barrel... people are going to ditch the stock barrel. I know I would.

Competitive with what, though?? Without the only 2 "high end" accessories, should the marker be competitive with the Ion, Wrath, Promaster, or Omen, or with more expensive guns that are proven to have quality parts and have a market already.
The Proto recently proved that companies can ask whatever they want and people will spend whatever it takes (PM6 was $950 and after 2-3 months prices dropped over $200) because of a name and the idea of impressing other players/teammates. Nothing much changed to call for a $300 price increase from the previous year, but people were still foolish to buy right away and now there are a lot trying to trade them away.
The Legend looks interesting, but w/out the CP and Proto barrel, and with the insides being what they are (spring return, etc) and there are no other grips on the market with those hole patterns, I wouldn't pay/expect to pay more than the price of a low-end electro.

I dont care what are in the insides just as long as its easy on paint. Im going back to a cocker for the sole reason it chops a heck of alot less than any open bolt pneumatic marker I have ever shot. If legend is cheap enough and incrediably easy on paint I would def consider picking one up.

Understatement of the year. CP regs have to be the most overrated regulators in paintball. They're total crap.
You can get a much better reg for the same price or less.

Dye Ultralite barrel is the best barrel on the market bar none. Above comment on the CP regs is spot on, very over-rated. Regs like the ones that come on EGOs, with the stacked washer design, tend to be the best.

I've been trying to convince Matt the Alien tech to have Jack at Alien change his regs away from CP's. When I first used Matt's remains it had the CP on and the velocity was all over the place +/-8 to 10(Did the same thing on my matrix). I put my hyper 2 reg from my trix on and the consistancy problem was gone.
If I were Infinity I'd go with the Evolve Pi reg, they're unbelieveably consistant, and equally(maybe cheaper?) priced.

Pi reg is more based off of a torpedo reg. I have herd great things about them tho. My only gripe is the air hose dosnt come out of the bottm. But would def be a awesome stock reg if it were to come with a legend.

Weird, I have never had one issue with any of the cp's I have ever used. Yes you need to keep them clean but even after 10 or so cases with out cleaning I still get +/- 3 on my trix. Guess Ive always had good cp's

i'm a big fan of the hyper2/sidewinder and the torpedo. they are completly different internally, but in my experience are very consistant

Hyper 2 and sidewinder are almost the same internally with the exception of the Hyper2 hs the stcks in a different position. Thats just what i remember from looking at internals.
