Best parking is going to be at the Hyatt, and the Hilton across the street, there are also the parking meters (count on them being full) on PCH, and then the city beach parking lot (ten dollars a day), then there are several parking garages on Main street best option as a backup if everything is full. There is also a lot on the north side of the pier (small one)
Directions to the garages. (can get validation if you keep the ticket on you)
From PCH, turn on to Main Street, take first right (walnut), pass a bar called Gallaghers, turn right and go underground (make sure to take the second ramp, the first one is the way out). There are (I believe) three sublevels of basements there. There is an elevator (I prefer the stairs) that leads directly up to PCH. Point yourself towards the beach, and go left on the sidewalk. Cross PCH where the Dairy Queen is and you are there!
The other garage is across the street from the underground one, there is another enterance on the other side of the block. There are something like 7 levels of parking for this building. Some underground and the rest go up to the roof.
If you are a visual person, click
here. There is a button that you can hit that will give you a Hybrid of a map and a satellite image of main street (in the top right corner). Zoom in twice (the street names dissapear after this) and you will get a good idea of the area.
You can contact me if you have any questions. I have lived here for 7 years and know the area very well.
