i wouldn't worry about the balance of your squall due to the ram placement.
a squall is longer in feel and in that respect i use two hands while firing anyway.
the sight hood is a big plus and it adds to the elegance.
i'd say a must have, but maybe not for you.
the leash is a help, but i've never had one. i've only lost a feed plug once in a fire fight...

i had a squall that was powdercoated black and a squall that was powder coated grey.
i'm guessing the powder coat colors are limited but you can buy accents for the rest of the squall.
i've had 5 squalls and 3 micro-squalls (stroker).
