How to: Figure out what feedneck your gun uses

This is the only thread that will be used to ask feedneck threaded questions in. If you need a question answered posting a clear picture will make it very easy to figure out.

If you don't have a question, or an answer for someone else do not bother posting, this thread will not get OT.

Very good thread. I think the timmy forums needed this. Once again 187, good job. I am sure you are sick of repeatedly answering these questions, even though half of them probably came from me.

Look at my pics, then look at yours. By comparing the bases of the feednecks you can see that your gun is 2k2/alias threaded.

No, not all alias timmies use the 2k2/alias. The first alias's made used cocker feednecks, you just need to compare the pics to what you have.

Off hand the CCM should allow you to use an unsanded halo as well as FBM feenecks too. The hybrid feednecks will be the opposite, you need to sand your halo to get it to fit.

I have a drak timmy, one of the older ones with the different body styling, and can't figure out what kind of feedneck it has. It looks just like the pic of the coker threaded one but I have a cocker threaded feedneck with me and it doesn't thread on. Heres a pic.

Cocker. Try a different feedneck because theres no reason why a cocker feedneck shouldn't fit.

dragons can have 2k2 and cocker threaded feednecks depending on on old they are. older dragons use 2k2 and the newer ones came with cocker threaded feednecks, the base of each is pressfit.

so if you get a new cocker base press fit in then you could put on a cocker feedneck. Just asking as my teamates feedneck on his dragon broke off and he has been wondering what to do.

Im pretty sure that feedneck is a cocker, can you clarify this?

The only reason I would think its not is because it is on a ripper 2, but who knows, the guy i received this from stated it was the 2nd ripper 2 that was assembled.

EDIT: Pic killed margins, so i resized.

patrice - yes you could get a cocker threaded base then put it on your teammates dragon. i would suggest not going with cocker, I would suggest a 2k2 threaded base. contact BLAST for one.

tbs5391 - if you compare it to the pics you can tell that it's 2k2 threaded.

I've got a loose feedneck on my 2k2. It's a Redz Camlock, that was press fit onto the gun, yet now it's coming loose, and starting to fall off from time to time. How might I fix this? I've been suggested to use loctite, and one person even suggested JB weld (though that makes for an ugly finish) and I don't wanna send it back to blast again and wait ANOTHER month to get it back.

Suggestions?

Oh, and great job 187

Thanks 187, i think he will try sending it to blast to see what they can do. Its a shame that this all happened the same week his techna arrived after a 8 month wait.

paintbalesf - you will need some type of epoxy. Loctite does have some epoxies in there product line, but if you are referring to the thead sealer type that won't work. The last time I had to press a neck I used JB weld. It came out very clean, and it's not that hard if you pay attention and make sure to clean up the extra with a moist towel.

One last thing though. I'll probably end up using JB weld, however, how do you "press" it; Does it take some sort of machine? Or does it need to be repressed at all?

No you don't need a machine or an actual press to put it in. However, I suggest cleaning out the old epoxy very well. Whether you need to use dental picks, scraping tools or a demel bit (yeah I did that) to get it out, just clean it well. Once this is done the feedneck can actually sit all the way down where it is supposed to.
