Famous Gets -100 in Semi's??
Anyone know why? I'd REALLY have liked to see them beat Dynasty Dynamics...

correct me if i am wrong, but does it matter?
I thought that the finals counted wins not points.
Thoughts?

NPPL Finals are WINS only (best of 3), points mean nothing, so Famous won the 1st and lost the 2nd. They will go to a game 3 (Unless the -100 is the result of a tourney ejection, but it was probably just a hot gun).

It shows it as points right there.
But now i remember it being wins only in the finals again. I can't really remember now.  |

NPPL 2005 Rules Section 24.08
Pro Final Round - The winners of the semi finals will play for 1st and 2nd place and the losers will play off for 3rd and 4th place best of three format.
Translation: BEST of three, means 2 out of 3. That is how every NPPL finals has run this year. Yes, they show points, but it doesn't really mean anything in the big picture (unless there is a equal stale mate in the 3rd game, i think)

Dont know if it's the same for Pro, but for the D2 final match, it was best 2 of three, except the first game tied, then LTZ and CO Raiders won one each. It then went to a 1 on 1 tie breaker (yes, ONE player from each team) which LTZ ended up winning.

its based on points, but obviously if you win 2 out of the 3, regardless, you will have the most points.
and then theres always the rare occurance like the ltz game where they actually tied scores

yeah one of the young famous guys got totally busted for ramping. I just had to laugh, if you are going to use a cheater board atleast learn to turn it off quickly.

It has been said earlier, it is wins.
Because if it was points, there would be no game 3, famous could not get more than 100 points for a win, still leaving them short. |
