hey guys i'm going to get an omen within a few weeks and i was wondering if there was a way to tell the difference between the 1.0, and the 1.5. Cuz my local pro shop has an omen in but idk which one it is.... i think it is the 1.5 but idk
also how accurate do u guys think the omen's are.... like comparable to an impulse or what type of gun
also how efficient are the omen's...... and are they more efficient than the ions, cuz thats another fast low end gun i'm looking into getting... its either down to the omen or the ion
differences are the 1.5 has the 1.5 board and 1.5 cam arms... the omen is closed bolt so its gonna be almost hte exact same as a cocker. i dont knwo how accurate imps are

the only way to tell visually is by opening the grip up, and looking to see the the can looking thing is purple or black, if its black its 1.0 board if its purple its the 1.5 board, also if you look at the cam arms, the 1.5's will have notches in them while the 1.0 are straight until it hits the end. if you turn the gun on and it shoots within a second...its the 1.5 board if it takes 3 blinks or around 5 seconds to shoot its the 1.0 board.
the omen is suppose to be more accurate than the ion. . .
Its alot more effecient than the Ion, the ion might get around 1000 shots from a 68/4500 tank while the Omen can get 1800 shots froma 68/4500, I usually get like 1600, but I usually don't have that great of a paint to barrel match
omen is faster, cam arms are better than eyes, omen has a lifetime warrenty, the ion has a one year warrenty. the ion doesnt even come with an on/off, the omen does. the omen has the second best rreg on the market stock. once you add a reg and a on/off that already costs more than the omen. the ions solonoid can get dirty easily, omens are less common. if he says the ion is lighter, it is 2 oz. which you cant even tell. the omen has a low rise gripping feedneck. it is way easier to get you desired velocity or bps. no guessing with the omen, in the ion forums they never know which dwell they are at or what they need to adjust it to. omen has autococker threads which is more common in barrels if you want to transfer to a different gun. the omen wins hands down. AND the ion doesnt even have a derlin bolt, the omen does.
Get an ION, everyone here says that omen's are the **** but i have one now and i know how to tune it, and i really hate it. IMO it is a POS and I wouldnt waste my time on one ever again. 4 people at my feild have owned one and they have all been the most problematic gun at the whole feild. I was warned at the start not to buy one and now I really wish I had listened.
Aswell as that the ION has way better resale and people actually want one so you wont have a problem trading or selling it if you deside you dont like it...
Yes I used to be an Omen fan boy, then I shot other peoples gun and I realised how crap they are, hell i would chose a Piranha EXT pro over the Omen. I still have my Omen but I hate it and am trying to sell it.
hey lobes i live in bay city and i have a omen where are you getting it because i think bandit is selling them for 319 and that is the 1.0 model and you can get the 2.0 for same price on the internet
Also they do kick, I dont care what everyone else here says they kick like a mule, compared to an ION which has vertually none. Trust me just save yourself the hassle and get an Ion the get a new feedneck, ASA, Barrel and you will have a really sweet gun. Just look in the B/S/T, there are people trading nice guns like Timmies and such for Ions. When was the last time someone wanted to trade a high end gun fo an Omen?...Never... I wonder why....
For the price of a 1.5 boarded Omen you can buy an Ion with a new feedneck and ASA and probably a barrel. Way better setup than a Omen. The reg isnt to bad either people have recorded gettin within 5 FPS with the stock reg...
Also with the Omen the paint has to be matched to the barrel perfectly other wise the aint will roll out which means you really need a barrel kit, the Ions have a wonderful thing called detents...

Closed bolt doesnt mean more acurate, if any thing the Ion will be more accurate because it has less kick, therefore the barrel wont move as much and the paint will be grouped closer together
How the hell am I flaming, he asked for opinions, why dont you grow up and learn to back up your comments. Beleive it or not the omen isnt the be all and end all of paintball guns, i personally hate it, and if you dissagree with me then tell me what I got wrong rather than being an imature little ***
i know c'mon weetbix it seems like every single thread where an omen or an ion are mentioned it is flamed to hell... ok i do think that an omen is way better cuz its more efficient, accurate, and plain old cooler looking
i really don't wanna get some plastic p.o.s. that i'm gonna have to dump 100's into it to make it good when i can get an awsome gun with a lifetime warranty.. which evil warranty's r the **** from what i've heard.....
also hunter1234 i can get bandit's 1.0 (it may be a 1.5 but i'll be in there tuesday morning to check for sure), but anyways i'm just gonna order in a new black 2.0 which i can get for 319 or so depending on his msrp also he is going to drop the price of the one in bandit due to the price change everywhere else cuz i showed him that the msrp dropped to 290

i think your imp is better than an ion but my friend has an imp (stock) and the omen is alot lighter, faster (imp is capped at 13.3 bps so ofcourse) youll really like the omen. plus, you wont get baraged with insults if you ever ask questions here...
But he wasnt asking for opinions ABOUT the ion, he was only asking if it was more or less effieicent. He WAS however asking a QUESTION about the omen. Other then maybe asking about accuracy he wasnt asking for ANYONES opinion about anything
