There is a difference between rookie and young guns. If you are 17 and under - you can play in young guns. Rookie is different - that is based off of experience.

Still need a DEFINITIVE answer

Every reply in this post has been inaccurate so far. Here is the exact rule from the 2005 NPPL rule book aout age:

3.06 AGE REQUIRMENTS Players must be 18 years of age or older, except that players 10 through 17 years of agemay play with written consent from a parent or legal guardian.

To summarize that for the people who don't understand the original question, the rule STATES you can only play in an NPPL event in a division other than young guns ONLY if you are the age of 18 or older. Since this is a NPPL FEEDER event this rule applies *UNLESS* the GPL is overriding this rule. So the question still needs to be answered.

If you are under the age of 18 is the GPL going to allow this person to play D1 or D2, or is the GPL going to follow NPPL rules and ONLY allow this person to play in a young guns division. Please clarify.

Mis Interpertation of RULES!!!

NPPL does not have an age limit (the limit is set by the insurance company) which is 10 I believe. NPPl does not have a young guns division. Under 18 require parental permission only. The young guns at the GPL is for those 17 and under. If you are 15 and want to play Div 1, 2 or open class you can just that a parent must sign the waiver for insurance purposes.

No, it states that you need parental consent to play if you are under the age of 18, not that you cannot play.
