New or Old Model Rainmaker
I currently own a 2002 FLY IR3 Angel, but was looking into a cheap backup gun that will actually be useful. I was hearing good things about the rainmakers and they are surprisingly cheap versions of autocockers.
Here is my problem. Would it be better to get an old model rainmaker like the 1450 or the new style ones with the stock double triggers(dont know a model number). Any help would be awesome. Thanks

Umm hate to tell you man(wait I don't), but the rainmaker has is not an autococker or a copy of one. Goto the rainmaker faq at warpig.
Also the new ones are better.

The Rainmaker is a great choice for a backup since they cost around $100-150 for new ones on Ebay.
The 1450 has a single trigger, 4 AA batteries, and Semi-only board, large shroud, with unlimited rate of fire.
The 1451 has 2 versions.
Version 1 has the single trigger, 9V battery, Full/burst/semi, small shroud, and a 9bps cap.
Version 2 has double-trigger, 9V, semi-only, small shroud, and 9bps cap.
Otherwise, all 3 versions are basically the same, but you basically choose between "fastest semi", "full-auto", or "double-trigger" versions.
So, if you want a tourny backup, the 1450 is probobly the best "out of the box", but all the parts can be interchanged so it doesnt really matter. Just have fun with it.
It is not an electronic cocker, but it does work in the same basic way, so its pretty easy to figure out. (and also uses the same barrels!).

it's not an autococker copy but
it's a copy of the vector. which has been out of pruduction for a very long time. yes a rainmaker is a good choice for a main marker or a back up. you will be very suprized of its performace.
as far as the 1450 or 1451 that realy depends mostly on weather you want a capped bps or an unlimited bps. the 1451 is capped at 9bps and the 1450 is unlimited. but both are great markers.

Hey KEv. How do you get a "Warp feed" on a Rm instead of a vertical. I have a warp and I wanna know How I can lower the profile

here you go:
1) mill the sight rails off where the vert feed is as shown in the pic on the eBay add (not the good discrete(sp) plug of my gun for sale)
2) remove hte vert feed
3) get a hacksaw. cut the top part off where its wider than the part that goes into the feed tube. there will be ~1/4" sticking out of the body when you put it back in
4) sand the edges down so it doesnt chop paint
5) reinstall with two setscrews or JB Weld
6) put warp feed adapter on it and go paint some people
there you go

Hola kevmaster.
Nice Rainmaker. I take it that it is yours. One question though, how much is your reserve? I dont wanna spend a ton (I just bought a 2002 FLY IR3 ha). So if you could tell me that would be great.
Email it to me at updownok991991@yahoo.com
Thanks

It looks like there are a ton of scrathes on the top of the gun. Any comment? Also, would it be to hard for me to install a vert reg on it? If it isnt, how could i do it? Another thing, would it be possible to reinstall the stock lpr and hp regs back in so they can become volumizers (go to the rain maker owners group website, then click on how to install a vert reg, then u will see what i mean by leaving them in there so one/the other/both are volumizers)?
Thanks

Well... I know that the new board's are capped, and they don't have full auto.

Im dissapointed in any paintballer who goes around dissing anything brass eagle. Their guns are good so dont wast your money on going geting a tippmann or even a spyder and think that you'll be good

no offence kevmaster but even that was lame for u to edit magsters post to say brass eagle = good and tippman/spyder = bad. i can say rain maker is good but i have seen lots of ppl have problems w/ brasseagle (dont worry i helped them out w/ their problems) but the greater go down rate is be then spyder (mine barely goes down) and tippmann.

yea i know what u mean i used to be a flamer in the rainmaker vs cocker thread almost a year ago and now i have became a BE supporter (in a ways) i own a talon that i got at a yard sale for $15 so that turns me into a be owner (a bit) and hopefully i can help out in this world of be haters cause i gotta say even though it's a plastic gun, it holds up on it's side of the bargain (shoot and cocking wise, even though it's like 5 lb push to cock it )

I own ALL Brass Eagle markers, I have a '99 Rainmaker (which doesn't work) it is very good marker, even the looks, and no atter what you think RMs are NOT autococker clones, trust me THEY AREN'T, my brother owns a TRICKED '98, it is a very decent marker, very few breaks, runs good, it has a 1 millimeter or less trigger pull, and you can barely tell you press the trigger, they are very good. I have to say to go with a 98 with a Painmaker board and some Mad marty mods, and a trigger job.
this post almost went nowhere
