Paint Brands best used in Shockers? HELP ME!

what are good brands/types of paint to shoot through shockers?

.. and what are the bad ones?

please LET ME KNOW i just got my shocker and i dont feel like screwing it up already! all help is appreciated!

Any paint. Be sure it properly fits the barrel you have and there is very little reason to be concerned.

What barrel(s) do you have?

i have a 16" AA with a .689 boresize i believe, and another barrel. i just remember people saying there were crappy types of paint to shoot and good types. i duno the specs of the other barrel, maybe ill find out or post up a pic and you guys can help me. i do remember hearing people say certain brands will break more often in the shocker than others, hence my concern. thanks for all the help!

This Barrel/Paint Matching Chart will give you a rough idea of what fits your barrel. There are others not on the list which will likely fit well... Kick'n, WGP, etc.

Shockers have a history for being VERY gentle on paint. There was even a paint which was advertised as too brittle for any other marker but the shocker (SmartPaint). It wasn't true but it is true that they don't commonly break/chop.

I take it that you don't play at a FPO field. If you can choose what you shoot than try RPS Marballizers. Its extremely consistent but you pay a premium for that quality. I was forced to shoot (what appeared to be old and ill cared for) WGP Rec-ball. It broke on the floor if rolled off the table top.

I don't know how fields get away with selling stuff like that but.... although the paint broke while still in the loaders and pods... if it got to the breach on my Shocker, it got to the target.

I really wouldn't stress too much about your shocker having trouble with paint.

Just keep it in good order, have fresh batteries in it and your loader and it will do the job.

hey thanks alot, luckily the only field i play at (hogans alley paintball, great place) isnt FPO but even if it was it wouldnt be a probem, saying as they sell about 14 different brands of paint. (dont quote me on that number) and the only reason im concerned about this is because im sorta paranoid of chopping (to this day i wont shoot PMI because it chopped once and broke in the barrel in my STO) and also i still have a stock 12 v with xboard, id feel better about it if i had a better paddle i guess. well, im going to try either marbs or PMI or nitro duck in my shocker, and some other no name brand that i found at this store that i had a gift certificate for, so ill fill you in on my personal shocker review. thanks for all the help!!!

As for chopping with your STO the answer is simple. Get a Hammer (MacDev or FF) and invest $30ish for a pro tune which will include custom tuning and springs. It should never ever chop and your efficiency will likely improve.

wow, thanks alot on everything. i think i chopped PMI back when i was sortof a cocker noob lol. that was about 3/4 of a year ago lol. i was going to invest in the whole freeflow hammer and valve and springs and everything bit, i know its a good idea. but definetly thanks for all that help, i truely appreciate it!
