Ion VS Evil Omen w/ 1.5 board and 1.5 Cam Arms
Which do you prefer? The SP Ion or the Evil Omen with the new Evil 1.5 Board and 1.5 Cam Arms?
Evil Omen- 25bps and Cam Arms
SP Ion- 17bps and "Break Beam Eyes"

Just ordered my yellow ION, can't wait to test it.
As for the OMEN, both of mine have been flawless for over a year. The OMEN is harder to understand and 90% of issues are user error or ignorance. The ION seems like a great value for the money and easy to set up.
Over all the ION will outperform the stock OMEN. But the 1.5 OMEN with new board and cam arms will outperform the ION for a little more $$.
1.5 OMEN has faster ROF, Better reg, better consistancy, better efficiency and fail proof cam design.
ION has less kick, easier set up, cost less and still shoots more than fast enough for most "legal" games. Also ROF modes are nice for rec play. Breakbeam eyes will give little to no trouble so almost as good as cam arms.
As for looks and style, it's personal preference. I like the OMEN but the ION is just plain sexy.
Stock, I'd go ION...1.5 OMEN and I'd go OMEN though neither one would be a game winner over the other.

So the question is, will a $350 dollar omen with $150(?) upgrades be better than a stock $285 Ion whose upgrades are still down the road?

2lbs 7 ounces for the OMEN but that's with the ASA and On/OFF
If you add an On/Off ASA to the ION they would be with in an ounce of each other.

First of all no gun vs gun threads....read the rules.
Second. Who cares about the weight. If you cant hold a 5lb gun or however heavy it is....well you shouldnt be playing.

Would you rather swing a 5lb hammer or a 2lb hammer all day if they both drove the same nails?

True. But its not worth complaining about. Im not to shure how heavy my STO is but its light. So if you can carry a STO cocker then you dont need to play

Omen are honestly terrible...You will hear over and over again that omens are indeed blowbacks...and even if they werent, they still have the kick of one.
And to the moron who said cam arms are better than break beams, are you kidding me!?
Breakbeams are the most reliable eyes, it is nearly impossible to chop paint with them, they can see ALL color paintballs.
+ with cam arms, your feedneck is set off to the side like a 98 custom....for tourney play that is not good when your snap shooting to the left side of your bunker.
