I liked the board, it had more options than the regular G3 board and more dwell settings and tournament modes.
The bolt was meh to me, I didn't like how inefficient it was. It was a dump valve so I guess that explains it, but it just was super inefficient and having to refill after every game is annoying.
The shot was okay, it was a very light gun so you had to take that into consideration with how much kick the gun has. But it was too light, to the point where the whole gun felt unbalanced with a hopper and tank on it. It's like you had to have the perfect hopper with the right amount of paint on it.
The frame was somewhat comfortable, just a normal frame, but the grips are super comfy.
The barrel was alright, a little too big of a bore, but every gun comes with a big bored barrel. The fact that it was 2 piece was nice, because it was more compact. The milling on the G3 SE is nothing special.
What is good about the gun, is that if upgraded enough, it shoots very nice. I know a lot of people that shoot it and they like it compared to other high ends.

I just got my G3 SE yesterday. I have two G3s, and I took one look at this chrome G3, and I had to have it.
My standard G3s didn't have PSP 3 shot mode, so I had to buy APE upgrade boards for them in order to have this firing mode. The G3 SE comes with this firing mode, so there is no need to upgrade to a better board.
The fit and finish of the G3 SE is much better than the standard G3. There is a little more attention to detail, and there are some subtle differences in the milling of the regs, which make the SE look much better.
The SE also has a different barrel than the standard G3. The SE comes with a two piece barrel, that tapers down to a smaller tip, whereas the standard G3 is just sort of flat on the end of the barrel.
The G3 SE comes with a lifetime warranty, whereas the standard G3 comes with a one year warranty.
There is also a better set of tools included in the G3 SE box.
Both the G3 and the G3 SE are so simple to maintain, that you can remove the bolt, clean it, swab the barrel, and put it back together in only two minutes.
All in all, I truly think the G3 SE is as good a gun as there is out there, and would fit the needs of 99 percent of the people who play paintball. While $399 is by no means cheap, you have to consider the fact that this gun is almost as good as guns costing $1300.
I thought I would post a picture of my G3 SE, and then a picture of my standard G3 for comparison.

The Dangerous Power G3 SE is a great gun. This gun has been designed with simplicity in mind. The gun shoots great right out of the box. After shooting about a case through it and not having a single ball break, jam, or any other issue, I am convinced that this gun was a steal for the price. The lifetime warranty you get with the SE is worth the extra $100, but then you add in the nicer trigger, the nicer board, and the two piece matching barrel, you quickly realize that this gun gives you a huge bang for the buck. The kick is minimal and it's quiet as well. I have zero complaints about this gun, a must have for $400.

Is the G3 SE worth the extra $100 over the original G3? Check the Dangerous Power forum and see how many times that question is posed.
The answer is: It depends.
The SE builds upon the already highly regarded and well reviewed G3. It includes a new two piece barrel, the upgraded board, the better trigger, replacement regulator part, and a lifetime warranty. Also the SE comes in some great looking "extremely limited production" colors. Unlike the regular edition guns, these are hand polished and the parts are milled, not cast.
If you buy a regular G3 and buy the stock replacement board, the replacement trigger, and the "free with shipping" regulator part, you're looking at about $75. Add in a new barrel and you're well over $100. All said and done you're going to have a regular G3 for slightly more than the sexier, polished, lifetime warranteed SE. In this instance, I'd say go with the SE.
I like how I really don't have to upgrade anything right out of the box. From what I've read, this isn't the case with most guns.
Of course, if you're going to buy a magnetic trigger and the upgraded board or a 3rd party one, and a 3rd party barrel then you're replacing all the pieces that come with the SE and the only advantages you're left with are the milled pieces, the lifetime warranty, and the sexy polished body.
At that point it's probably not worth the extra $100.
I can't comment on the quality of the barrel, from other reviews I've read, it's better than the already decent original barrel. I'm sure most people at some point will upgrade to their favorite 3rd party barrel. I think the SE barrels look great on the SE gun and I don't intend on replacing it until I find the need.
Other things that come with the SE include a nicer full allen wrench kit with holder vs the bag of allen wrenches provided in the regular edition. The manual is still the sucky poster manual. It's still poorly proof read and seems like it was translated from another language. Download the pdf for the replacement stock board if you want to actually program your board.
My friend got the regular G3 and has some issues with the power button. I've had no issues with the SE. Yes, it does take some pressing but it's perfectly fine and takes enough effort so you know you won't accidentally turn off the gun mid-game. Programming, once you get the hang of it, is simple albeit tedious when you need to press the trigger 25 times to get the gun up to full speed. But it's great not having to remove the grip to make adjustments to the gun.
Also, this still doesn't come with the PMD, a $55 pressure monitoring device that replaces the back cap. I think this is invaluable because unless you chrono right out of the box, you have no idea what your pressure is and from what I've read you can damage the gun if you shoot too hot. Secondly, if you do chrono and shoot too slow, it makes it easier to adjust based on how much psi you're feeding your gun. It just makes it easier to understand what your gun is doing if you have a problem (like your macro line isn't in all the way and your gun isn't even pressurizing).
So, is the SE worth $100 over the regular edition? It depends on if you're going to upgrade everything with 3rd party parts right out of the box. If you are, it's not. If you want a gun you can assemble and shoot right out of the box without needing to sink more money into to get it to perform right, then yes, the $399 SE is definitely worth it over the $299 regular edition. But hey, get the regular edition anyway, I want to have the sexiest G3 on the field

feedneck, barrel, weight, looks, comfort, easy use
Cons:
efficiency?
Gun arrived on my doorstep, opened the box, took off the first layer of foam, saw the gun "w00t", took that off, saw the two piece barrel to the right, allen wrenches to the left along with them was the sock, stickers, and rubber cork thing to replace the hook if you want. and the CRUDDY manual. I got the Silver/Green version(very nice). Has a great trigger. way better than the normal G3, no side to side(well at least very minimal), and its just sleek and comfortable.all the parts are hand polished and are very smooth and shiny. the carrying hook is milled differently than the normal and IMO it looks way better. the RAPS has no leakage and is pretty darn convienient. the upgraded board is way easy to change all of your settings. just pull and hold the trigger, turn on and your set. you can change your rate of fire from 5-25 just by pulling it the ammount of times needed. modes and everything else is the same way. dont even have to open the grip other than to put the battery in. ok so shooting is really nice. ive had this gun about 3 months and i have shot about 4-5 cases.(no i dont shoot a lot.) ok so yeah i walk out the door with my empire prophecy and 68/45 crossfire on and put the thing on psp3/25 and the thing rips. zick. that is the word. smooth and accurate.
gun doesnt leak. no problems. no scratches or impurities on it. great buy and you save money from the original g3 so just buy it if the thought even crosses your mind. i love it.
