it weighs 5 freaking pounds!!!!!!! plus its hard to find the sight line, very wide. barrel is set low from the top of the gun...
nice and fast, relativly simple to maintain, and is very reliable. semi fragile (plastic shell, jsut dont beat it on a tree and youll be fine!).
not a bad gun, just could have been done better!

I've been using this marker from the beginning of '07, here's what I have to say about it.
The good: Overall, this is a good marker. It has a high rate of fire, it is accurate, has break beam eyes, and thus far hasn't given me too many problems.
The bad: There are a few minor flaws with this. If you buy the collapsible stock, you won't be able to connect your tank without the use of a drop forward or a remote line. The battery indicator can also get kind of screwy some times, I had one experience where it said it had power, but wouldn't fire, and a battery change solved that. I also had to send mine in for service once because the board failed. I don't know what the cause of that was, but Smart Parts replaced it for free. Also, I broke both of my front sling mounts through normal use, and have been unable to fix them.
The subjective: There are a few things about this that are good for some, bad for others. The milsim body I think is good, allows for a lot of attachments, but is kind of heavy and bulky, not good for anything too fast-paced. The right-offset feedneck allows you to sight down the barrel, and use optic sights if you so choose, but off-balances it a bit. For any players planning on using the Apex barrel, it will be somewhat difficult, as the whole Apex system doesn't comply with the included shroud. I think the best way to go about this is to buy the Apex barrel, remove the tip, and put it on the new Freak barrels that are coming out that are designed for them.
Overall: I'd recommend this marker to those who find it aesthetically pleasing, and are willing to drop $375 on one of these as opposed to $160 for a normal ion, which mechanically is pretty much the same.

Bought this gun cheap and upgraded it with the stealth shroud, 20" tactical freak barrel, bipod, stock, and red dot scope. It shoots amazing and is very accurate and quiet. It fits me well because i'm 6'4" and it is more comfortable for me to use during long games.
The only real downside is I have broken numerous 45 degrees elbows but most of the time its because it too tight on my hopper and causes it to crack. But they are cheap and I just buy a couple and put them in my vest and im good to go.
Overall this gun is amazing even though it is and ion inside, it's a beast outside and i woud take this gun in the woods any day over my ion or even my 07 redz ego.

Smart Parts SP-8cool looking gun. pretty much an ion with a shell over it. pain in the butt to take apart to clean and lube but they shoot just like an ion would. good value if you can get them at the right price
