A improved version of the previous SLG. New features include composite Ultralite frame with aluminum trigger, new milling, bolt silencer, and a locking feedneck

Appearance: This is all based on personal preference. In my opinion I think the gun looks cool.
Performance: I haven't put any upgrades into this gun. I've been playing with it straight stock. Out of the box this gun is amazing. It shoots straight and stays consistent. In the future I'll buy a barrel but right now the stock barrel is more than efficient. The feedneck is awesome. I have put three or four hoppers on this gun and they all hold snug.
As of now I have put only around two boxes of paint and I have had zero breaks and zero chops. I couldn't be more happy with this gun.
Reliability: As stated above, I've had zero chops and breaks. My gun hasn't any defects or problems.
Value: You can't beat the deal you get with this gun. It is great as a primary of even a back up. It's my primary and I'm lovin it.

Ok i bought this gun like a month ago and so far i have only shot about a case of paint through it, but so far i love this gun. The first thing i noticed was that i shot a 1000 balls on 3000psi. Thats great. It is also very easy to clean and maintain.
Now the things i didnt like. First off the asa. Still no on off asa. Like seriously but whatever its like the first upgrade anyways. Second the feedneck. Its not a terrible one but its just annoying. They should have just put on the same one the dm's are coming with. Then there is barrel. Its pretty accurate but its too short. I like to run a 14" cp barrel so thats what im getting. And last but not least is the trigger. This is where i have the most complaint. First off the side wobble on it is insane. Then you try to get it in a groove for you and i still cant get it in. Some ppl say take out the spring, so i did and then i shot even worse. Im looking for a new trigger but i cant seem to find one.
Overall the gun is sweet for the money. Especially now that it has the ul frame. If you are looking for a gun that is decent price with tournament grade performance this is the gun.

Well i bought this gun for christmas, and played with it for 9 hours yesterday, i have no complaints, i mean its not a ego, but for 300 bucks its the best out there, i play snake and its super light, im going to get an on/off for it just cause that bugs me, but its not really needed, barrel seems all right, dont have to upgrade, but a new one will help any gun. Great investment, will probably continue to use for now, and keep it for a backup once i get my 08 ego.

Having played mostly pump for the last couple of years, I rarely walk the trigger anymore. I learned how to aim and make shots count. Carrying over the same style of play of quick and effective snap shooting, I found the SLG wonderfully accurate even with an over-bored paint match.
My setup included a Viewloader Revolution and 48/4500 Guerrilla Air tank with Center Flag 420SV reg. This makes for a very light setup.
Upgrades on the marker included a DM9 feed neck collar, laser eyes, DM9 trigger, and Dye Airport on/off. The only upgrade really necessary is the feed neck collar. The rest is fluff. I run my pump without an on/off ASA, and it's no big deal.
With a topped off 48/4500 fill, a full Revvy, 7 pods, and on a mission to dump as much of it as I could, I was able to empty 6 pods before running out of air with roughly 20 balls left in the hopper. When it ran out of air, the marker cycled similar to a Spyder running out of air, only quieter.
The Revvy kept up well for the most part, but I found myself out-shooting the loader once I grew accustomed to the trigger. For a little background, I started out in tournament airball in 2006. After playing every weekend for a year, I learned to walk a trigger on an 05 Ego, peaking at 17-18 bps on the board ROF display counter. I achieved similar numbers on a Bob Long Infamous Intimidator which also had a ROF display counter.
The SLG has a distinct snap from the sear when it's fired. You can feel it through the grip and the reg. It's not so much kick, as I noticed no barrel lift. Other than that, it feels like it cycles as smoothly, quickly, and as quietly as a Matrix. The UL frame feels great, and makes a very comfortable hold when maneuvering and snap shooting.
Maintenance was also simple. The firing assembly slid out of the breech in two pieces, without the need to break it down any further. There was only one o-ring to lube on the bolt stem, and a few on the outside of the bolt. The only hang up I had was running a swab through the breach and having pieces of the swab catch on the sear.
Overall, I was impressed by the performance of a relatively low cost marker from Dye/Proto. It appears very well designed for durability, reliability, and low maintenance.

Proto Paintball 09 SLGThe proto slg is a good beginner gun. It shoots when you need it to and doesn't really give you problems. It is a nice simple starting gun but not something I would keep as a backup.

This marker worked perfectly right out of the box. With my J and J edge barrel kit, this marker is very accurate, fast and shoots very smooth.
I used about 1500 PSI on my 88/4500 tank, and I had fired 1 hopper, and 8 pods (100 rounds), so roughly 1000 shots.
this is a great buy, competes with the high end markers, at a fraction of the cost.
