Looks: The marker Looks good, Proto has come along way from the last marker I owned with their name one it, the PM5.
Feel: Shooting this marker is what made me love it, Normally Im not a fan of spool valve markers, and well honestly this isnt a true spool as it uses a mechanical sear. However you wouldnt know it by firing it. The marker shoots like a DM9 with the LPR set a tad too high. Its smooth there is hardly any barrel rise and it really feels good in the hands.
Price: This is an older marker, You can find some of these in the BST section or on ebay for as low as 120$. However, make sure it is a 09 UL, as the 09 and 08 gen. of the SLG had some serious problems with not functioning correctly.
Overall: Great entry level marker, If you can pick one up for under 150$ Its worth every penny.

first off, this is a bad *** gun for the money. ive loved it straight out of the box. i have had some issues with it however, but thats going to happen from time to time with every kind of gun.
first issue was at living legends this year. the first day it shot great. it was reliable and overall i was happy, (except for loosing my front screw out of my on/off.) on the second day though, that was a different story. at the chrono station it just kicked into fully auto and started leaking all of a sudden. went back to the tent, took out the bolt and everything looked good. dry fired it and the bolt locked up. took it out and the plastic tip on the bolt had snapped in half. rocky from dye gave me a new aluminum tip for it but couldnt put it on because the red lock tight it into the back. so dye sent me a new one for free. (dye is a great company and i will always buy products from them because of the way they treat their customers.) got that fixed but it started pinching balls like crazy and kicking into fully auto for no apparent reason. i thought that maybe the air pressure changed somehow from a plastic tip to an aluminum but thats not the case. try not to mess with the trigger too much because that was the problem. i have not had any more issues with it though. well, except the battery life. for some reason it eats the **** out of them.
the only thing that i suggest is that you make sure that the bolt is all aluminum. put on a clamping feed neck, different barrel and thats all you need. other than that i give this a 4.5/5. you will definitely be happy with this gun. i just ordered a new gun but i know that i will continue to play with my slg ul.

i bought my slg awhile back for $250. it shot fine when i bought it then i took it home and the slg asa tightening screw was unscrewd and took out the peice it was in hence the first time i sent it in. i got it back about 6 weeks later and the slgs board was fried from malfunctioning the 9v battery that was in it and it fried it. hence the second time i sent it in. got it back over two months later and then out of the blue it stopped working they said it was something to do with the milling and i sent it back in hence the third time i sent the gun in and i got it back about 3 weeks later. got it back 2 days ago went to play last night and the same thing happened and they finally decided after 3 times theyre going to replace the gun they said they would call me today and schedule a pickup for it and that has yet to be done. ugh this thing is a peice of crap i may be one of the rare cases but it is the worst gun ever made it leaks its very touchy crappy asa and junk macro fittings
:smashgun:

this gun leaked as soon as i put a tank in it i dont know if thats just because its new or i have a malfunction the asa also fell off? I have no idea why but im having to buy a new rail and asa. Befor the asa fell off even though it was leaking it still shot very accruetly and very quite no much kick overall good gun once i get all the flaws fixed.I would recomend this gun because most other reviews and other people i know who have this gun say they dont have my problems for $300 this gun is good

Proto Paintball Ultralight SLGIts a great marker, but recommend getting the Dangerous Power G3. The Proto SLG UL comes with a 11" barrel, the marker, gun lube, warranty, and allen wrenches.
