Probably my favorite gun out there. I have owned quite a few guns and I have to admit that I would sell ALL of them (but the SL91 ) and just keep this gun.

Ball on ball! The bolt system is real easy to clean.

The regulator on the other hand can be troublesome to take apart on the first try. Some people use a wrench but that will scratch. For some reason Dye sends these guns out with the reg's tight as hell. I suggest using a strap wrench to take it apart.

LPR is a dream to have. It makes a big difference.

This gun...is a beast. The gun is light, playing with it on the field is not a stress at all. Very easy to clean, and shoots consistent and I havn't even messed with the dwell yet. This gun will put paint where you need it! Another big bonus about this gun is how quiet it is. Your not giving away your position when your shooting ropes. And this gun does do that very well. Probably the funnest gun to snap shoot with in my opinion. When I shoot it, it just blows my mind how there is no kick what so ever. It feels like the ball should hit the ground 20ft after it comes out of the barrel, but it really is going right where you point it. I honestly got the gun, adjusted velocity, and it was good to go right out of the box. Even the ultra light barrel is nice, I use it over my Bob Long series barrels. This is my first DM I have ever bought, and it was WORTH EVERY PENNY. If you got the money and you are a serious player this is the gun for you. It improved my game honestly.

I love DM's, and this may come across a little biased, but they just seem to be the perfect gun for me. They have always been super smooth when properly tuned, and I have always been able to get enough pods off of a 68/45 with them (anywhere from 6-9 pods).

I prefer them over the NTs because of the ability to adjust the LPR to either set the gun up to run superrr smoooothly or to run a little more efficiently. I personally have not seen an issue that couldn't be fixed by cleaning the gun (and replacing an oring). I've owned over 35 DM's and have NEVER had to replace a solenoid, all the heresay about blowing solenoids is crap. I would recommend these guns to anyone and everyone as they are going cheap on the used market and all shoot like a dream.

Cons: efficiency is okay... until you tune it!!
LOVE my DM9. It looks amazing and outshoots everything else at the field time and time again. I have it set up with a virtue OLED board, BWing bolt, Eigenring, VP trigger, NT asa and reg sleeve, and a deadlywinds barrel, and it gets nonstop compliments, both on looks and on performance. With the bolt and eigenring, I'm getting over 1600 shots EASILY with this gun. I can't find anything wrong with it. Bolt is easy to maintain and LPR is a DREAM to work with. Reg can be kinda tough to take apart but it's not so bad. Maybe my favorite marker I've ever used.

Pros: Smooth shooter, sleek design.
Cons: Efficiency, eye pipes crack if not careful
Everyone loves a certain marker, and the line I love is Dye's DM platform. The DM9 is the best DM that has come out to date. It introduced the new eye pipe that is in the more recent DMs, as well as the absence of eye covers. It also introduced the Reach Trigger, which led to the way of the Ironmen Trigger. The DM9 is a beautiful, sleek design and shoots just as such; nice and smooth. I've owned more DM9s than any other marker combined, and that is a TON.

It is hard to point out the pros and cons of a marker: it is how the user feels about it (preference). I've had no complaints with the DM platform, but it would be nice to have a more durable eye pipe. The DM will treat you right if YOU treat IT right.

Cons: not efficient
I've owned a lot of different DMs. DM4-DM9
DM9
Pros:
1) very quiet - tougher for your competition to tell where the shot is coming from
2) super smooth - after you tune your marker correctly it really does shoot buttery
3) Eye pipe system has improved drasticly f/ the DM6/7/8 models. Better than the DM7, DM8. Just don't screw your barrel on too hard
4) light weight
5) very consistent when properly tuned
6) looks great
7) no stripped screws from the eye covers since they removed them (removed for DM8 and up)
8) no more leaky on/off switch b/c they also removed that

Cons:
1) a learning curve to using it. It takes a little time to learn how to properly tune your marker to exactly the way you like it.
2) If it springs a leak it can be difficult to determine where it is leaking from without removing the grip frame (unless it is coming straight down the barrel)
3) not efficient - I get 7 pods and a hopper on a good day.

Choosing the right gun this year was probably one of the most difficult decisions to make. So many choices, PE coming out with their new spoolie and if course their ego 8 being followed up by their 9. Being a huge PE fan in the past I was leaning strongly towards either the ego 9 or the Geo. But after a hard thought, I decided to go with something new, not that I haven't owned a DM in the past in fact I've owned many, but not lately. I found a great deal and decided to swing with it.
The day it came was a glorious one, hell when ever anything comes in the mail the day is glorious. Pulling the gun out of its case, first reactions were how light it was, the smooth milling and the unbelievable shortness. I was amazed but normally cosmetics dont impress me much its how the gun really shoots. That weekend I put more then enough paint through it, to push it through the break in period. Slowly over the day of practice my gun became smoother and smoother, quieter and quieter. Over the chrono the hyper 3 was impressing me, getting around +/- 4 or so in the first day.
I had no problems with paint, and I was shooting some ****ty white box the whole day, it seems to shoot cheap paint just fine.. not that I recommend doing it, which brings me into the next topic of it being a pain in the *** to clean up after a chop.. Thats the only downside, I wouldn't say its any worse then and previous DM, but it is definitely more of a pain in the *** then a ego would be. The second thing is efficiency its not horrid but its not great.. To this day my Dm is only getting about 9-10 which for me is acceptable. Overall this gun shoots amazing, hasn't gone down on me not once and is very reliable. I don't doubt buying this over a Geo or 09.
