Cons: doesnt like very cheap paint
i bought this for my bt-4 and i bought a 16inch. it was very acurate and the lngth doesnt lower the range i was surprissed. it was very cheap very good i use diablo heat paint and i works great with that. when i say it doesnt like cheap paint i mean really cheap greasy paint like whit box or other very cheap paints like that, pretty much anything under $15 per bag. but otherwise it is great, there will be the random shots that just go way off but it is a good barrel

I recomennd it for a 98 or bt-4

Pros: Cheap upgrade to stock
Cons: It's cheap
I purchased this to replace my stock 98c barrel, and it did the job very well. It was a tighter bore than the stock barrel and thus gave it better accuracy. I also liked that it was a little longer which gave it better efficiency as well. For the money, it is a very hard barrel to pass up.

Smart Parts Progressive Second barrel I ever bought and it was great. It's a cheap but decently performing 1-piece barrel. Can't go wrong with a Progressive!

Pros: Light, porting, readily availabe
Cons: A tad overpriced
Had two of these for my 98 custom back in the day. One was 12 and one was 14 inches.
These barrel does quiet down the low end mech's pretty well and there is decent porting at the last 4 or so inches of the barrel.
Decently large bore at around .692 (estimated) never had a problem with breaking paint unless too big or just terrible paint.
The barrel is very readily available with most gun barrel thread sizes and I believe have 12 - 18 inch barrels.

In the end, a barrel is a barrel. This is no different. Not a bad barrel for the price I paid (keep in mind this was like 4 or 5 years ago).

I got this little more than a year ago. Saw dramatic increase in accuracy from the stock Tippmann barrel I had on my A-5. Hip firing I could insanely accurate. Smart Parts makes a great product. If you see this and you are low on cash get this. If you have the money grab a Smart Parts Freak pipe kit. I never had a ball pop since I got this barrel. You won't be disappointed.

Smart Parts Progressive i've had this barrel for a number of years on my impulse and its always shot very straight and matches quality paint very well for a one piece unit.

Pros: better then stock, not costly
Cons: better barrels out there
I bought this to replace my stock tippmann 98 custom barrel. Was an improvement, but not that amazing. Also, i bought this barrel in '05, so there has been some changes in the design.
Reasons for ratings
Appearance- Looks better then my stock one, but there is better looking ones out there.
Performance- There was little improvement in distance over stock, and accuracy.
Reliability- I see this rating as durability, so, its metal... Hasn't broke on me yet.
Value- For $40, it will be better then stock (for a tippmann), but i didn't give it a 5 because there are better barrels out there, and if you spend more, you'll get more out of it.

Smart Parts Progressive This is a pretty good barrel for your first upgrade, but i would buy a flatline barrel in stead.
