Exalt Paintball has been in the game for a few years, providing excellent products and even better customer service across the globe. So when I had a chance to check out the latest tank cover/grip from the minds at Exalt I had to take the opportunity.
Features:
One size fits all! Yes this will fit on all normal carbon fiber tanks.
Non-staining material that provides beyond incredible grip.
Low profile and low weight for comfort.
So my initial thoughts on this product are all good. You have a rubber based material which is very stretchy, lightweight and stylish and give it the flexibility of being able to add it to practically every paintball tank available on the market today. The low cost of the product ($16 U.S. Dollars at the time of writing this) makes it well within the budget of just about every player looking to gain an edge. How can you go wrong?
So I broke out the old measuring tape and the dimensions are approximately 3.75 inches tall and 3.25 inches across. This should allow for ample sizing on most, if not all tanks. When I installed the tank grip on my tank(68/4500 DXS) it literally took less than 30 seconds. The process is as easy as stretching the tank grip over the butt of the tank and pulling it on the tank until it is fully installed. This is so simple it is idiot proof! So the next task at hand was to take the tank and throw it up on my shoulder and move around in the shooting position. Well as I expected the tank grip held the tank in place with no effort. The textured rubber based material is full of traction. When you take off running down the tapeline or to the snake you will not have to worry about your tank sliding around on your shoulder while you are shooting to send your opposing players to the dead box. This tank grip does what Exalt says it does, no spin or clever marketing tricks here folks. My props go out to the design team at exalt as they offer a few excellent colors, the overall design of the tank grip is very pleasing to the eye and they also teamed up with Ninja Paintball for some custom Ninja Tank Grips too. Clever is an understatement when referring to Exalt. They have taken the accessories market and are now a household name in the world of paintball.
This is a must have for those of you who play hard and want the best products money can buy.

First Impression: Well when I first saw the Exalt cover in photos on the internet I thought it was some what ugly. After seeing some in practice a few times they slowly started to grow on me, and now that I actually have one on my tank I think it's a nice looking cover although that is personal preference.
Material: The Exalt tank cover is made from rubber that is fairly strong, but still flexible to be able to fit over your tank. The material does stretch out, but seems to go back to its original shape and size after being removed from the tank. Since they are flexible they have one really neat feature is the one size fits all style, so if you change tanks or borrow a tank you can most likely still use your cover since the Exalt cover will fit any 45 or 68 ci tank.
Style: As I said previously, the style of the tank cover has grown on me quite a bit over the last few months but again style is all personal preference. One nice feature about these tank covers is that they're customizable, meaning you can put 2 different covers together to cover the entire tank and mix and match those colors. You can also cut the tank cover so you only have the "butt" of the tank cover on your tank for grip or cut it to whatever desired length you're looking for. Again, this is all your personal preference I personally like mine stock since it's simple.
Function: In this I am going to compare it to a Dye Rhino tank cover that I have had for about a year. I am unsure of the year of the tank cover (07ish?), but I dont believe it's extremely old and i'm unsure if anything other than the pattern has changed on these, feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.
Exalt Cover - The first thing I noticed after putting it on my tank and using it was that there is much more grip on the butt of this cover compared to the dye cover. The rubber material really grips to your shoulder and doesn't slip. I was very impressed with the grip I had from this, and didn't have one slip of the tank while holding it against my shoulder. The rubber material seems light at first, yet it held up fine with no scratches or damage to my tank while diving hard into the snake all day long. If you're really concerned about the entire tank you can use the 2 tank covers together to protect the entire thing, but I am confident the 1 cover will protect my 45/45. Overall great functionlity from the Exalt cover, does everything a tank cover should do. The exalt cover is more difficult to put on the tank, but isn't hard by any means. The easiest way we found was to roll it on to the tank like a condom. The exalt cover is probably the easiest tank cover to clean, simply spray some water onto it and wipe it clean with a paper towel or shammy and it's clean.
Dye Cover - The Dye cover also has very good grip although I personally feel the Exalt cover has much more grip to it compared to the Dye cover which was a nice feature. Also, the one thing that always seemed to bother me about the Dye cover is that it spun around on my tank while playing or unscrewing my tank, which the Exalt cover will not do, since it has such a tight fit. I would have to say the Dye cover likely offers more protection for the entire tank, since it covers the whole tank and is a thicker nylon and rubber type material.
Overall both tank covers do what they're supposed to with the exalt having a better grip on the butt of the cover, and it will not slide around on the tank while playing/unscrewing your tank although the Dye cover may offer a bit more protection for the bottle. The Exalt cover should be more than enough to protect your tank unless you play on cement, in which case you should stop playing on cement. If concerned about the protection you can double up the tank covers to protect the entire bottle.
Installation/Cleaning: The dye cover is easier to put on, simply unzip it, put it offer the tank and zip it back up. This cover is more difficult to clean as I would always put it into the wash with my paintball gear on delicate.
Conclusion: I really love this Exalt tank cover since it's customizable, has great protection and offers superior grip on the butt of the tank. I also really like the fact that the cover doesn't slide on the tank when playing/unscrewing. The only downside may be if you like the style of the tank, but it has grown on me to the point that I really like the way it looks on my tank. It all comes down to personal choice and the Exalt tank cover is a great choice at over 1/2 the price of most other covers, overall I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new cover or better grip from the butt of the tank.

I bought one of these tank covers while at World Cup. I was impressed by the one size fits all style it had, as well as the tacky grip it gives when shouldering the tank. The price is also very nice considering what else is on the market or paying a few dollars for some ugly grip tape that doesn't protect the tank.
I also believe the pictures of this product on the manufacturer website doesn't do it justice. At first I thought it was ugly based on the pictures but after using the all black version it looks nice on my tanks. One cover does not fit the entire tank but it does a good enough job protecting the tank while it's on your gun and does an excellent job in providing grip.

These don't work as well as a tank cover, because they only cover the back half of a tank. But you're giving yourself a false sense of security if you think that it's going to protect the whole tank.
It looks good on a tank and is better than nothing at all in terms of grip on the tank. I"m a big fan of these.

Exalt Paintball Exalt Tank CoverThis item works great but is hard to put on at first. The best way is to run it through warm/Hot water first to loose the rubber. That makes it easier to fit it on the tank the first time around.

Exalt Paintball Exalt Tank CoverI bought this and had a hard time getting it on, after I did the first dive I took it fell off. I haven't put it back on since. I prefer using tape so you can just replace it.
