Finally tested the lapco Bigshot with the Apex. The Lapco barrel by itself was awesome. Shot straight and no ball breaks. With the Apex, 2 in 5 shots went straight while the other shots went all over the place. After a couple of games, I used the Lapco barrel without the Apex.
If you are still interested in a barrel that puts a backspin on the paint, definitely go with the Apex over the Flatline. I had no ball breaks with the Apex shooting Diablo Heat and marbalizers. The Flatline was picky with the paint i chose, and you can only use it with the Tippmann's.

The Lapco Bigshot with an Apex tip. The Lapco barrel itself is a quality product made with good craftmanship. I am imnpressed by it's quality. I would say it's on par with most aftermarket barrels when it comes to performance though, not significantly better or worse than many other aftermarket barrels I have. The mounting groves for the Apex work perfectly. I must say that using backspin to affect distance has it's pros and cons. I use it on some occasions and then I only use it with the lower settings. I believe the more spin you put on the ball the less consistent your shots are and the more stress you put on the paintball.
All in all I like the product and am pleased with my purchase.

I picked up the Lapco 8" Bigshot APEX Ready Barrel when I decided to give my Phenom that customized "silenced" UMP look and right away I was impressed on the performance of the barrel itself let alone the cosmetic look I achieved as well.
Each shot fired emerged smoothly and accurately from the barrel and towards my intended targets and I have yet to this day had a single barrel breakage.
However to test Lapco's reputation and quality control I fired a round with a barrel block on to test the ease of cleaning and was again impressed with how quickly I was able to wipe up the mess and carry on.

I have carrier them on my mrkers for now well over 6 years and I strongly believe in their quality and the abilty for the barrel to improve performance. Thes barrel are made in the U.S. by individuals who put care in each and every Barrel that they either design or manufacture.
