Pros: Does what it's supposed to do
Cons: Gauge is too high and Price.
I just bought a Bob Long Vice, and it looks like unless I want to never take apart my LPR and/or make a guess with my LPR adjustment..this LPR tester is a must own. So right off the bat the $26.95 price isn't that expensive, but it makes you wish it were cheaper since it should've come with the marker.

As far as the quality of this tester, it does what it's supposed to, and unless you hook it up to a HP air system, I don't see it breaking anytime soon.

However I do have one complaint. The gauge reading is way too high. It goes from 0-300 or something like that. Considering the optimal LPR range for a Vice/Protege is 65-75 it makes the fine tuning dialing in somewhat hard with such a high reading guage. It should only be 0-100. That's my only real major complaint with this LPR tester. Anyway regardless it's a must own for those who want to have their Vice/protege running as optimal as possible.

On a side note...my LPR was backed all the way out when I received it, so this purchase was a neccessity to me. Surprisingly though after I made my guess at dialing in the LPR to before I received the tester. It actually was exactly 70 PSI (as recommended)...not bad.

Bob Long Technologies Ashcroft Vice/Protege LPR Tester Didn't pay much for this little thing. Bob Longs guns require a perfection setting for the gun to run as smooth as it possibly can. I don't know why Bob didn't put that puppy in the box with the gun....

A quick guide without LPR. About a turn and a half from flush on the LPR will get you a good solide 65-75 LPR reading. I have done this countless times. I have put the ram in, backed out the LPR, cleaned the LPR insides and re-adjusted it to 1 and 1/2 turns in from flush and then put the tester in and its always around 70 psi or so.

Not a bad idea for the precise person out there and it does help. I just would expect mr. BL to include with a little extra pricing to the marker for a "package deal".

Bob Long Technologies Ashcroft Vice/Protege LPR Tester Works well and needed for any Protege or Vice owner. Very hard to find or purchase if it does not come with a used marker. Stock gauge was garbage and needs to be replaced. Very well made though
