The Hydro paintballs are great practice paintball. If you are going to play a tournament buy Monsoon or Abyss.

Appearance:
Well it's a paintball. They are split 50% Blue, 50% Fill Color. Great for FPO Fields so ref's can know if its they're paint or if someone just bought paint off AVI.

Performace:
They are put together good, bright fill. They break on the target, but are a little to brittle if you don't have good eyes you may get a break or two per case.

Reliability:
Work Great during summer days at about 80 Degrees. I gave a flat 3 since I have never used not during summer.

Value:
Best Practice paint for the price. They are $40.00 at AVI and probably less with a dealership. I paid $75.00 because my field is overpriced, but oh well.

OVERALL:
Good for practice, and great paint for rec field owners. People shouldnt complain with 10$ or less markup.

Pros: Cheap! Bright fill.
Cons: oily bags, Not too accurate,STAINS!.
My field switched to Hydro for the mid-grade paint in July, as our old mid-grade Zap Ink'd was discontinued (as far as I know). I was a huge proponent of the switch as I heard good things about JT Hydro, but after shooting many cases, I am no longer a fan.

The paint itself looks pretty sweet. Our Hydro field paint is green/silver shelled with neon green fill.

The biggest problem with the paint IMO is all the oil in the bags, which causes all sorts of problems. In my early experiences with Hydro, I assumed it was just from a break in the bag, but after shooting it for a while I've realized it as problem with all the paint. I've shot over 20 cases of Hydro, from a lot of different pallets, and they all arrive the same- with oil in the bag. The easiest way I found to deal with it was to stick some paper towels in the bag and just move the balls around a little bit to absorb all the oil- which still yields less than terrific results.

Because of the oil, the paint is somewhat inaccurate as it gunks up the hopper, the breech, and the barrel. I find myself having to swab my barrel/breech, even without breaking balls just to regain accuracy after shooting a couple pods.

They break as well as any midgrade paint, as long as you can hit your target. They don't break as amazingly as high grade paint like DXS Gold or Evil, but they get the job done.

My biggest gripe with the paint is that the fill stains! My jersey has many bright yellow-green splotches from the fill that I haven't been able to get out with laundering and stain remover.

The paint is a great value, but I only find myself shooting it when the $45 case of Proball is outside of my budget.

tl;dr

cheap paint but its oily and the fill stains. only shoot it if you can't afford better paint as it is pretty cost-effective paint.

These paintballs are worth every single penny....they are great for practice and have a consistant bore size... they break on every thing(this is a double edged sword) you can get kills from the other side of the field but once in while you will get a barrel break....i also had one or two broken paintballs in the bag (easily solved by pouring them onto a towel and rolling them....These paintball are highly reccomended

Pros: BRITTLE, great fill, fly perfect
Cons: Fill smells
I got some JT Fluid with low expectations, and when I opened the case about 75% of the balls had a dimple, and the shell was hard as a rock. They felt like marbles in your hand, and no matter how hard we squeezed them they wouldn't pop... but then we dropped one. And it broke. So we started drop testing them, and every ball broke open from shoulder height, we couldn't believe it. So we started playing and the paint shot like darts, the bore was a bit small but we just put on some tighter barrel backs. Even though it had dimples, we had no curves or slices all day. Zero barrel breaks, and almost zero bounces on target, it was incredible paint. Also had a SUPER bright unique fill that was very visible and didn't come out until we washed our clothes. The only downside we found was when the paint broke open (all the time), the fill had a terrible stench to it, kinda like a Christmas tree dropped in a vat of chemical waste... it was very distinct and hard to describe...

Overall, JT Fluid is the best budget paint I have ever shot, I wouldn't even hesitate to shoot it in most tournaments either.

Cons: crap other times
I have never used this in the cold but i hear it sucks.
I did use it at d-day 2009 where it was very humid. The paint seemed fine out of the bag but once we were on the field and the paint was in the hopper or pods it went bad fast.
I filled my pods with a brand new bag. Walked to the speedball fields and the first time i reloaded i started having barrel breaks in my cp 2 piece pro kit! I have shoot rec level procaps out of these barrels and never had one break. I was under the impression that hydro was supposed to be better than procaps. Hell i thought almost anything was better then procaps! It worked ok for the night games but if you have the littlest bit of weather problems they seem to suck.
