My brothers and I were given these tanks for Christmas in 2003. They came with the Spyder X-tra marker packages from the local sports shop. They worked great, just like my PE CO2 for the first six months and that’s when they went bad. The pin valves started to get all messed up and then some stopped working.

Similar Products Used -
Pure Energy 9-oz, 12-oz, 16-oz, 20-oz

Look - In my opinion the tank looks a little funky because it is as long as all the other tanks but has a really small diameter. Other than that it looks the same as any other aluminum Co2, all black with the company logo covering one side.

Durability/Reliability - This tank is quite durable, like most other Co2 tanks it can withstand being dropped onto pavement from pretty high as long as you don’t drop it on the pin valve. If this is done, it is possible that it will break and then the tank will fly around erratically like a bullet and destroy anything in its way, including you. But, as for the body of the tank, it can take a beating. This tank is by no means reliable though, like I explained above they only really lasted about 6 months. Then, the pin valves would start leaking and you would have to hit the pin itself with a hammer or screwdriver. This was an attempt to create a burst of air out of the tank in an attempt to get it to seal. Well this didn’t work most of the time and eventually the pin valve would get so bad that a full tank would leak out in a very short time. Granted, once the tank was on the gun it would work fine because it was pressurizing the gun. So, you had to fill it and then get it on the gun right away. I fill my own tanks at home (I advise not doing this unless you are a trained professional and have the right equipment!) and it eventually got to the point where the tank would not fill anymore. I would connect the tank and then place it on the scale, but when I went to air it up it didn’t work. Altogether this was neither a very long lasting nor reliable tank.

Performance - When the tank was working it performed great, just as good as all the other C02 tanks on the market. It always fed my marker for a long time and pretty much shot the same strength from a full tank all the way down to a couple shots before it was an empty tank. But, it is a C02 tank and therefore is only good for slow shooting mechanical markers. When reaching high rates of fire the Co2 expands and is released very quickly subsequently freezing up everything it is running through. This can cause macroline/ steel braided hose to rupture, as well as broken boards, ruined solenoids, and damaged internals in electronic markers. Finally, it is only 12-oz of air, which does not last very long and means you have to keep going for a refill. If you are not near an easy accessible fill station such as at a field or have your own, it is not worth the hassle.

Price - The tank itself is worth the price cause it works fine but the pin valve is worthless. In my opinion another brand of tank like Pure Energy can be bought at the same price and provide greater reliability.

I would not recommend this tank to anyone, it is very unreliable will most likely fail after a fairly short period of use. It also holds little air so I would advise purchasing a larger tank such as 16-20 oz over the 12 oz. If you are looking to shoot a fast mechanical or electronic marker I advise that you purchase a HPA tank instead as this will ruin your gun. This review is completely unbiased and I hope it is informative and helpful to all readers.
