they're also bombproof. i've slid on rocks, concrete, wood, etc. and the pants look amazing.
i think the only problem is that i ordered a size too large for me, and that while reffing a scenario game, the elastic band thingys got cut at the bottom of the pants....neither of which is the fault of the manufacturer.
I HIGLY suggest these to ANYONE!

Great pants, I've been using the XSV version for over a year now.
Padding:
-Bare essentials> Thick durable knee padding and crotch padding
-Nothing on the thighs/sides or butt
Weight:
-They're pretty thick pants, but the mesh on the insides of the legs and the lack of excess/crazy amounts of padding keeps them from being too heavy
Looks:
-Kind of plain but they look good, a very neutral design
Everything else:
-Durable, been using them for a while with no issues whatsoever
-Two pockets + a swab hole, all I really need
-Zipper, button AND velcro for the crotch area.
-Adjustable waist (sizes run a little big, my waist is around 34-36 and I wear I medium in these pants!)
Solid pants, if you can find a nice pair for <$40, get 'em.
