The SL74 has always been my favorite ego. Very sexy and very smooth. They felt and shot so much better than the ego8s and just were the perfect match for me. Very efficient and the ones I had were actually moderately quiet. I would buy one again in a heartbeat if I found one in good condition at a reasonable price.

These SL's were ahead of their time. One of the best markers ive ever owned. I bought it the day it cameout in tampa 2007. It shot great right our of the box. Very easy to maintain and incredibly lightweight for 2007. You can find great deals on them now and they can still pull their weight even in 2012

Accuracy:
With the included SL barrel kit, you can find exactly the right paint to barrel match to suit your needs, or you can overbore with just the right size .693 back. The stock barrel is wonderful, you can't really get any better than this.
Consistency:
The SL regulator is one of the best on the market. Out of the box I got about +/- 3, which is great, for not having being broken in yet.
Board:
The board is wonderful. The easy to use LCD, combined with the best of the best in customization makes this board the best. Even better than most aftermarket boards.
Recoil:
This gun has more recoil than most, considering that it's a poppet valve gun. Still, with great tuning and the included zick kit, the kick is lessened to almost nil.
Efficiency:
Ego's have always been known for their great efficiency. I can get about 1700 shots off of my 70/45 tank. There's really nothing more to say, other than that it's great!

A bit of kick when I got it, after a few cases, it shot a lot smoother. Just need some break-in time. Gun is light and the barrel kit is nice. Gun shoots ropes and little to no kick. With the LP valve guide, I got around 1600+ out of a 70/4500 and with the HP valve guide I got around 1700+ from a 70/4500. The barrel kit is light and accurate. Red laser eyes are also helpful when putting the eyes back on to see if they are lined up.
Maintenance is very easy on it. I usually oil the bolt and rammer before each day of play. It takes less then 40 seconds to take it out, clean and oil. About every 5 cases I clean and lube the HPR and LPR assembly.
Like all other Egos, the LCD screen makes adjustments very easy and hassle free. Everything is displayed on the screen.
Pros-It's light, efficient, fast, and smooth.
Cons-Price is a bit high but you do get a barrel kit and Zick kit stock

The XSV SL74 is the by far the greatest marker that I have ever owned.
Planet Eclipse's craftsmanship is unmatched by anyone else in the industry. The marker is a beautiful match of "White" and gold. The white is actually a very, very very, light gray, but it is as close to white as any annodization available on the market. The custom molded carrying case houses the 5 piece EStar Barrel kit, barrel bag, wiring harness and HP replacement valve.
Out of the box, the marker shoots +/- 4-5. It is the easiest marker on the market to play with out of the box. It requires ZERO upgrades. It is already upgraded the the maximum. Add a tank, a FAST loader and tear up the competition.
Reliability is a must for serious ballers. It is essential that your marker perform when you need it most. As long as you have a reliable tank regulator, eg. crossfire, MacDev, etc., a quality high speed loader, eg. Vlocity, Pulse, etc., and quality paint, this marker will NEVER fail you! the maintenance schedule is very easy as well. Oil your rammer and bolt o-rings after every play and lube your regs after about 8,000-10,000 shots. (This is my personal schedule. Your schedule may vary as needed).
The only drawback that I can see is the price. But as Paintphreak's granny always used to say, "You get what you pay for!"

I have had an SL74 for about 6 months; this is without a doubt the best marker I have ever owned. Like all EGO’s it is very easy to take care of, easy on air I can get around 1700 off a 68/4500, fast, light, and accurate. It is a pricy marker but there are NO upgrades needed, it comes with everything you need even a barrel kit, the board also has everything including a game timer & speaker. With the newest Sl8R being released you can pick up new or used SL74’s for much less than the $1,995 list price. If you have the cash and play a decent amount this marker is worth every penny, I can't say enough how great this marker is thank you Planet Eclipse.

I recently traded two of my 07 egos for one SL74 and it was worth it. Like anyone that picks up an SL, they immediately realize how heavy their own marker is compared to an SL. Then, after playing that day and mowing down the competition, I passed it around to let some of the others bask in it`s glory. And they were all all impressed with it, especially it`s speed and accuracy. Almost everyone was hitting a tiny target across the field 4/6 times. Nobody elses markers were doing that and there were plenty of different markers out that day. Even the Dye sponsored guys were looking like they`d made a big mistake in marker choice after trying it out. Other than you have to replace some QEV diaphragms once in awhile due to the amount of power this beast exhibits, it is well worth it to have this at your side instead of any other marker. Pass on buying anything else and save up to get this marker, you`ll never need another marker ever again.
