i cant explain why jjs arent the best sellers barrels in the market. They are verylight, very accurate, cheap ( 5 bores and 3 tips for only $90 NEW) and selfcleaning when you have a barrel break. from 8'' to 16''. I cant imagine a Con so far. Yea i have fired with apex, flatlines, freaks, lapcos, sp, cp, hammerheads .... exept from the apex and the lapco, everything else compared to the jj is a waste of money.
And yes i am writing this review to help others ballers from throwing their money at garbagge like i was ready to do because i couldnt trust the jjs.

Pros: value, performance, size options
Cons: finish
I picked up a J&J Edge Elite Allstar set from eBay. These barrels really perform well and clear broken paint better than any of my other barrels.

Pro: With the 4 control bore sizes (.685, .688, .691, & .693) I've been able to match paint very well. However, I've started to run into smaller paint and not getting the fit I use to. J&J now offers two other backs (.676 and .679), so I'll be ordering one of them in the near future.

Con: Due to the finish, the two pieces aren't as quite when you connect them and will almost fill abrasive. The matte finish seems to show marks easier than other finishes (like the dust black on the stock Proto barrel).

When I first started researching barrel sets, I used a friend's Freak set. While it performed great, I didn't think the thin inserts would hold up as well as the solid backs would. He's had to replace one insert after a storage lid fell on it and left it out-of-round. Overall, I'd say the J&J Edge Elite is a great set.

Pros: great value, very modular
Cons: finish isn't as durable as I'd like
I was very impressed with this kit after receiving it. The case is decent, would have preferred foam but it's serviceable. The wide range of back sizes means that bore matching should never be an issue. I would like to see a longer control bore but that's just my preference. Love that it comes with different length fronts.

I was unimpressed with the finish though, not nearly as durable as I'd have thought. Weight was good, not super light but honestly, a few grams here or there aren't really making that much of a difference. Noticeably decreased the noise from my A5 and was a great improvement as far as accuracy over the BT barrel that I had.

Overall it is a great product and I highly recommend it to anyone. Though I think that if they offered a few different colors and a more durable finish that would go a long way towards increasing their sales.
