I bought my Promaster back when it was a good 360+ dollars, LONG before the insane price drops.
This gun ripped right out the box, except for the HPR. That had to be the only "negative" about the gun, easy problem to fix since most paintballers get after market regs.
Anyway, after Upping it, the marker was insane. Put a CP on it, a SCM III lpr, a Vapor Valve, and a Lightened Hammer and it was just lovely.
Very good marker overall, and for the price its going for now, i don't see how someone can not pick it up as a backup marker or a marker that you keep for when friends come and play.
Highly recommended, just make sure you get yourself familiarized with the marker before hitting the filed just in case.

sounds : about as loud as my ego. open bolt guns
Consistency : with some nice lpr, hpr, valve upgrades, it'll shoot darts.
efficiency : my promaster with an icdu ram, vapor valve, aka scm III, cp reg, got really great efficiency.
kick : has a little kick to it.
overall its a really good gun for the price. add some upgrades and you'll be shooting with the higher ends.

Pros: Although i bought it when it was much more expensive, the promaster is now a lot cheaper. It still provides the same performance as before, and the new price makes it all the more better. After plenty of upgrading, you can have the gun perform as good as some high-end guns, and it's pretty decent stock. It's also fun to tinker with, to me it turned into a project gun and now has some 1-of-1 parts on it.
cons: Simply, it doesn't have a clamping feedneck and the stock one is too small for a Halo B's feedtube, and too large for some other feednecks. Some people also complain about a bad stock reg, but a simple $15 purchase on a detonator will solve that problem.
For the price it's definitely worth it. Best bang for the buck IMO as of now.

well to begin with i first fell in love with this gun when my friend showed me it. he shot it and it shot beautyfuly i bought one soon after that, and when i shot mine i creamed. i loved it. one thing that was a pain in the *** was setting the regs perfectly. and i did eventually. theres a bit of reg creeping but i found out its a sign that your regs unbalanced.
i was so happy with this gun. i bought 2 of them. yes 2, for absolutly no reason. the guns board lacks some modes it could have came with, but its fine. it has nxl and a ton of capped modes. the soleniod is great, its used in the alias timmy. my battery never runs out on this gun. i can keep a battery in there for a year and it still works fine.
now for the speed. its quick. assuming your regs are set correctly. the gun is limited to the hoppers speed. if you can get a fast hopper it will go pretty quick. and i have a halo v35 and it shoots a rope without a chop. whatever you do dont put a vlocity or an egg on it. they suck.
the part on the gun are tough they can take a beating. body yes is thick. which is good. iv dropped my gun and it takes a good beating, it still works. you need a good tank on this gun to it needs to have a good recharge rate. the dwell on the gun is perfect at 7 or even 8.
the gun comes without an asa and a clamping feedneck. which is kinda lame. i bought a ccm feedneck and its golden. and a cp asa. the stock barrel is perfect, yes its not the best but it will give you the accuracy you need. and the gun will handle fragile paint just like a dye.
over time iv put alot of upgrades on my gun just for the **** of it. the valve in the gun is fine. but i did upgrade my barrel. the board and regs are optional.
this gun is perfect for any custom work. iv done so much to it. i milled the ram so it takes weight off the gun. and puts a lower operating pressure. iv cut the bolt and the bolt pin, iv also ported the lpr buy drilling extra holes. dont be afraid to do anything with this gun. its solid its a good price now about 100 bucks for a mint one. and it will never let you down on the field.

my promaster is a sweet little gun... i took it out of the case and thought wow this looks like a timmy... i took it out to shoot for the 1st time and it was extremely quiet and fast... i love the clamshell frame and the trigger i made for it... all in all this gun was and still is a great gun for the money (considering it was $400 in 05)... the only problem i have ever had is that i took the ram out to lube it and put it back in and it leaked... i took it out again and put it back in w/o changing or lubing anything and it worked go figure...
great marker buy it but beware of the stock hpr i heared they were bad... i never used mine b/c i didnt want it to be broken and i had an extra shocker reg lying around

For the price, $129 on ebay, this is the best mid-end electronic marker available.
Pros.
Its super fast, has 4 different modes for the stock board (semi, ramp, burst, auto) any of these can be used in eith 15bps, or uncapped (fast as your loader). is very light, 1.9 pounds? very little kick on it either. slighly upped pm's will keep up with eteks, quests, fusions, matrixes and just about anything else you can think of. easy to adjust firing modes (dip switches)
decent trigger, lots of adjustments you can make to it. gets lots of looks at my field.
Cons.
Hpr is normally junk (mines decent though) feedneck really dosent fit any hoppers (i tried a halo, an egg II, and a vl jr.) doesnt come with a asa, which sucks... can be difficult to take apart if you come from low ends like spyders. icd is out of buisness. not many upgrades available anymore.
Looks 8.5/10
Performance 9/10
Value 11/10
noob friendliness- 6/10
Overall 9/10

i've been using my promaster for over a year now, bought it for $250 but they're much cheaper nowadays. one con to remember is that if you're buying this marker BNIB it DOES NOT come with an asa or rail/drop. like many have already said, this marker delivers a lot of bang for your buck. works great out of the box. all of the settings are changed by way of dip switches so if you like to do alot of settings changes this might not be the gun for you. its not an overly loud marker. about average i would say. though it has a very distinctive sound with the stock barrel on it. not loud just very different than most markers.
if i were to list some upgrades it could use.
1. barrel(most guns can use a better barrel) though the stock barrel performed much better than i expected. used it for nine mths. before getting a new one
2. hpr - the stock hpr works fine. but there are plenty of better ones on the market.
3. feedneck - the stock feedneck is not locking. and lets face it, if you've spent nearly $100 bucks or more on your loader then its worth it to get a locking feedneck on any gun.
of those three items listed i feel the feedneck is the only thing that is a MUST to upgrade. the few cons i can think of would be that its a bit heavy compared to say an ion, though they're closer in weight than i would have thought. and the maintenance. the gun is pretty easy to maintain and doesn't take a whole lot of maintenance. its the breakdown that i don't really care for. there a four different sized allen-heads on this gun and always seemed to be a bit of a pain in the a**. after it's disassembled though, its a breeze to clean n lube.
Overall it's a great gun that needs very little out-the-box. reliable, accurate, consistent, and fairly efficient. considering their extremely low price these days. well worth every penny to pick one up.

I picked this up BNIB off Ebay at an awesome price and haven't been disappointed. Shoots fast and quite accurate with the stock barrel. You will want to upgrade the feedneck and possibly the reg as soon as you buy it but other then that you are ready to go. Not many ups available for it but it doesn't really need many.
With Indian Creek no longer making markers it won't have a great resale value but who cares at the price you can get them for now. There should be lots of parts available for it for quite a few years.
