I bought one of these rails as in late 2006 to use on my SP Nerve. I was happy with the way it looked and felt on my gun. So, I purchased four more for my ion and my brothers guns. My review of this product is completely unbiased but, it is required that i inform the readers of my affiliation with the company. My team was sponsored by New Designs for the 2007 season.
Appearance - When i first got a hold of one of these i was impressed buy the way it was milled and how the smooth contours added to the looks of my gun. It was also very small looking and compact, just under 2.25", and one of the smallest you will find. In addition, it only weighed 70gr, which is very light. It was full adjustable enabling me to move my tank forward or backward to find the most comfortable fit. Dual macroline ports gave me the choice of which side i preferred the macroline fitting to come out of. This was a great idea that allowed the user to move the macroline fitting to the side that best fit their main shooting position and style of play. Lastly, it was available in a large variety of colors to match almost any marker with a manufacturer’s anno.
Performance - I placed it on my gun and went to test it out. It did everything I expected an asa to do. It turned the tank on and off with ease, as well as purged the marker of the remaining air after I was done playing. It didn't matter whether I had dry, wet, or slick hands; the on/off knob was easy to use. And, having the ability to degas my marker enabled me to decrease my chances of accidentally shooting in the staging area and extending the life of the internals that are constantly pressurized in a marker without an asa. Finally, it made it a lot easier to repair something with out having to remove the whole tank and risk breaking another o-ring.
Reliability - Overall I was happy with how reliable the asa rail combo was. But, the original asa that I bought for my Nerve gave me some problems. For some reason the rail screws would slowly loosen and allow my tank to move all around. This made it impossible to place the tank on my shoulder and steady my gun in high rates of fire. Retightening the screws required me to take off the asa and then tighten the screws up again. I did try to use teflon tape and loctite but they just delayed the loosening. But, there was no worries that the tank would fall off because the small space between the rail and the asa did not allow the screws to come out all the way. Another problem I had was with the ball bearing that tightened the asa to the rail. An allen wrench is adjusted to press ball bearing down onto the top of the asa to secure it in place. It was unusually hard to move and after a short while made a groove that made that position of the asa unusable. It would no longer tighten and I had to reposition the asa. Eventually, the groove covered the whole asa and there is no way I can use it without it being loose and wobbly. Despite these few problems with the first one I bought, the next four have had no problems whatsoever. From the time I bought the first one till the time I bought the second one NDZ had released a new version for the 2007 season that apparently "was a fix for a few problems in the earlier version." So, this may be the reason for my problems with only the one I bought in 2006. But, on both the new and old versions the rail is useable with any other aftermarket asa that requires a rail.
Price - I did receive my products at a discounted price due to my team sponsorship (PbNation requires a price paid, so I put retail). But, even if I did not have sponsorship I would have purchased the same amount of them at the retail price anyway. It is a great product and definitely worth the $40.
Customer service - One of the great things is if you have any problems the staff and customer service representatives are very friendly and helpful. They will gladly help you out with any problem you have and do it in a quick and timely manner. My team dealt with Tony, and he helped us out with everything we needed. They also have many manuals and tutorials on their website to aid you in the installation and use of any of their products.
I would recommend this asa/rail combo to anyone looking to lighten their marker setup and make it more compact. Also, it is a great investment for those paintballers who like the ability to adjust things to their personal playing style. If you purchase the newer '07 version you should never experience any problems but, if you buy the pre '07 version you could have any of the problems that I have listed above. Once again my opinion is completely unbiased and I hope my review is helpful to all readers.

One of the ASA I have used. Even without gloves and hands oily from paintball, you can still turn the knob with ease. Very compact and light but still have the feeling that it won't break or burst.
It comes with a nice rail which is also small and durable. It holds onto any ASA with a set screw and ball bearing. I haven't had any problems with the rail not fitting any other ASA. I tried roughly 7 different ASA and they all fit on there without any issues.
It's only a 1/4 to 1/2 turn to go from on position to off and about another 1/2 turn to go to bleed position.

This came on a gun I recently bought. I had owned the earlier version of this ASA and it had never really let me down. This one comes with a better rail system (dual bearing). Other than that...same ASA. The on/off is super easy to turn on or off...even in game. I turn my air on, then add another 1/4 turn to keep it in place without turning it too far. Ive turned my air off a few times in game with my pinky. Same ol' NDz...it works, but its not my first choice.
