Cons: Loud and kicks like a mule.
I bought an ego 7 to get back into the sport based on one of my friends recommendation. That was a huge mistake. First day on the field I knew I had to make some changes to the stock setup. I added a zick, cure 4, LP valve and did the banjo mod (QEV removed), yet I still couldn't get it to shoot like I'd have liked. Honestly, timmys with a eigenram are far superior in my opinion. On the used market if you have to go with a poppet go with a vice or an 07 borg.

Pros: Light, Reliable, Literally Everything
Cons: Nothing
The ego7 was my very first super high-end gun. I bought it when the ego8 released at Huntington Beach 2008, and never looked back. It was my main gun for a solid 4 years, and I still hate myself for selling it.

For reference this review is based on an Ego7 with a Violent Series Zick Kit.

Pros:
The gun was reliable. I never, ever had a leak from this gun. No matter what I did to it, it never caused me a problem. I put upgrades in, changed every setting imaginable, and even swapped parts. Not a hiccup. She stayed perfect. Shot ball on ball with just the stock barrel and any paint. It was light, comfortable, to the point that I was not only able, but confident in my abilities to shoot one handed, even with my off hand. Air efficiency is absurdly good, I was getting close to 2k shots on a 70/45 stubby. I cannot speak enough good things about this gun.

Cons:
I got nothing.

Conclusion:
This was my favorite gun I have ever owned, and I've had my fair share. If you know anyone shooting a blue ego with polish green parts and a Violent Zick kit...I want it back.

Pros: Efficiency, reliability, simplicity
Cons: None that I can think of.
I got this gun in July 2007, at the NPPL Boston event. I have been using it ever since (currently November 2008) and it has truly been amazing. I've played multiple locals with it and this past World Cup. Only once has it failed me, and it was a part out of my control. My "QEV diaphragm" somehow got messed up, and I didn't know this. I brought it to the Eclipse techs at Cup and within hours they had it shooting better than ever.

This gun is VERY efficient, I can often get 4-5 pods + a hopper off of my 45ci tank filled only to 3000psi. In cup, with my [45ci] tank filled to 4000psi, I shot 6-7 pods + a hopper a game, and was still left with air in my tank.

It is very reliable. It has only failed me once, with minimal maintenance. The maintenance is very simple, after every time I play I simply, clean the eyes and detents, clean/lube the bolt and rammer.

It also shoots amazing. It is just simply awesome, and shoots truly great. I wouldn't get rid of this gun for ANYTHING.

I had bought this gun new back when it came out and have been using it ever since. I have been thoroughly impressed with how clean and consistently it shoots, and still have not ever chopped a ball in it. It can shoot any kind of paint you want to throw at it.

This is probably the most reliable gun I've ever owned. It is really loud, but hardly ever chopped balls, and almost never broke down on me.

The only thing that I don't like about this gun is the detents. They seemed to get chopped by the bolt quite often, but I think that that is the cheapest part on the entire gun.
