This was one of the last guns I owned before I quit playing and was the best I had owned. Although I had to refill my tank nearly after every match, it was worth it in game to use this gun. I never had drop off problems, other than the first shot occasionally. Easy to maintain and clean. Wide variety of upgrades, most of which you could use from other guns. Ergonomically correct in every way. Very cheap now I'm sure

When I first bought my DM7 I loved the way if felt in my hands, so compact and light. I've always loved the way all Dye markers look, just not the way they perform.

Appearance: Like I said above I've always loved the way the DM7 looks, the way the marker flows is just amazing, the milling is perfect and the UL barrel is an overall amazing looking barrel.

Reliability
: After I got done using the paint in my backyard I came back in with a little bit of air left, and I want to just waste the rest of it. I gas up and turn on the gun, there's a leak. I shot once and it went away, from that point on I had nothing but leaks from my marker, until I sent it into Dye, which as excellent customer service.

Performance
: I bought my DM7 off the Nation and I took it out back to shoot it it bit, and it took a while for me to get used to but after a while the gun melted into my hands. The first day I brought it out to practice it had a leak, it took most of the day to find it, but after some new O-rings and lube I was ready to play. I had some old paint so I thought I would use it first, just to get rid of it. Right off the break the marker shot fine but after a while it went into some half cycle and I would have 3 or 4 balls flying out the end of my barrel at the same time. It was very frustrating, and I was not pleased. I'm guessing this is because of the bad paint, but with Dye's ability to make a marker I would expect more out of them. I got some new paint and the rest of the day the marker shot fine, but I did have the occasional ball that flew off the the side, at the time it wasn't important but it could of been a crucial time.

Durability: The marker overall can take a beating, a few hard slides into snake and I had little scratches on my regulator but nothing I was worried about. But each slide I took it looked like they got bigger. Other parts of the marker did not scratch at all.

Overall I had a bad experience with the DM7, it could of been the previous owners fault, or it could of been mine. I tried to take care of it best I could but I guess my best was not good enough.

After teching these markers for who knows how long you sort of know everything about them.

I first used a DM7 when my cousin bought one and I had to fix it whenever it broke, which was not often.

What I liked about it was how light it was, and how easy on paint it was. I use brittle paint constantly and it never had a problem with it. Ranging from Ultra Evil, DXS Gold, and many others it could handle it. It also shot with no kick. I had his dialed in with these exact settings.

Dwell- 22
HPR- Set to 140 psi
LPR- Set to 60 psi.

This ended up with around 285 on velocity at +/-2, not bad.

It shot amazingly and was actually pretty efficient with these settings. But stock, not so much, he was ranging from 1,200- 1,400 off a 68/45. But when broken in and the right lube and those settings, he could get 1,600 easy.

The finally got the self cleaning eyes right. I tested this by breaking paint in the breech and shooting through it with no problems.

Although I have never liked the feel of the UL frame, but I will not count that as a con.

Pros

Light- Feels very light with its balance point
Easy on paint- No matter the paint, it can shoot it.
Nice stock barrel- UL great barrel
Consistent- The Hyper 2 supplies a constant pressure, and LPR is quality as well

Cons

Efficiency- Stock and not broken in, they are ok, but can get better with correct settings.
Working on- Although they do not break down much when they do, taking apart the bolt and getting to some of the smaller o-rings can be somewhat of a hassle.

In all they are awesome markers, just like most of DYE's products. I would buy one as a back up marker, but don't need one honestly.

*If you cannot afford a DYE Matrix 7, the DYE Matrix 6 is cheaper and performs the same.*

Pros: Shoots straight
Cons: Eye pipe
I have used every dm up until the dm7 and is by far the best yet!

The positive
The DM7 is lighter than previous models and is comparable in weight to the other guns in its class. The best part of the DM7 is its "accuracy" the DM7 is by far one of the most "accurate" guns I have shot. When shooting a stream of paint and hitting all where you want them to go is very important and the DM7 delivers. The level of customer service from dye is also a huge plus. With the inclusion of the clamping feedneck there is almost nothing this gun needs.

The negatives
The eye pipe system is a great idea but still needs some work. Playing in the midwest is not the easiest on paint so when you "chop" in the brech and do it more than once paint tends to get under the eye pipe. This requires you to have to remove the eye covers, take out the ball detents, remove the eye pipe and then clean. This can be kind of a pain. The only other negative is that its air efficency is not as good as an 07 ego, but when you play xball it really doesn't matter.

Conclusion
As long as you take care of the DM7 it will take care of you. Keep it lubed and clean and it will keep shooting every time you need it to.

From the very first time I even went to the chrono I fell in love with this gun! Everything about it is absolutely perfect to me. Incredible accurate with the ultralite barrel, and very smooth feeling operation with zero kick! I was literally ball on ball every day with no breaks or chops! Best gun I have ever shot with out upgrades, I honestly do not know what you would change on this gun.

Pros: trauma edition! fast, compact, accurate
Cons: low efficiency a little on the heavy side
i bought this gun straight from dave fason from trauma and i love it. i put a critical trigger on it and it shoots amazing! smooth, fast (what gun isn't), and that UL barrel is great. For the price, its probably my favorite gun other than the 07 ego, but imo dm7>ego7! Even though sometimes they do break down, there are enough people to help you out with it, and is usually an easy fix.

Cons: Efficiency could be better
The DM7 is one of my favorite guns. Has everything you could want, speed, no kick, light weight, looks good, feels great, and is balanced. You couldn't ask for more.
The only thing I could see as possible downsides is that it has a lot of orings but if you buy the repair kits that doesn't really matter.
Best marker I have owned.

Overall, I give the DM7 a 10/10.
