Look
The first thing people notice about a DM is it's appearance, which looks great to me. My DM7 is Oil Slick so it has a cool color. the milling looks goo and flows well with the rest of the gun.

Feel
The DM7 is 1.5lbs, which is very light for a spool valve. The UL frame which comes stock on all of the latest DM's is the most comfortable grip/grip frame I have ever used. Another thing I have about my DM7 is that under the barrel there is no LPR, like on an Ego; I have a CP Flow-Plug in mine and this makes it so that the player can hold their gun any preferred way. The stock UL Trigger is amazing, of course it is super light and is very smooth.

Performance (Accuracy, consistency, etc.)
Wow, with bolt system, Dye UL Barrel and Hyper 2 regulator combination the DM7 has ball on ball accuracy and is extremely consistent. The gun NEVER chops paint, even the most brittle paint can be shot through it. I have only had a couple barrel break due to paint being almost, if not over a year old.

Overall the DM7 is a great gun stock, up grapes are not needed, but some people prefer them.

just picked one up yesterday, the person i bought it from did a bad job lubing the bolt and one of the orings was too big. huge leak. got out my parts kit, went to work on it, fixed in under a minute. very easy to clean the bolt, reg, eyes, breech, etc. its very light. shot a pod through it in my back yard and i was like, "forget ropes, this thing shoots lazers!" the trigger is amazing and the ul frame give ur finger lots of room.

oh, and this smiley just reminds me of grillz lol

Pros: Mostly All
Cons: Semi Efficent, Maintainence
Looks - Appearance
I think it looks good, kind of the same as the DM6 exept a tiny bit more milling. It comes in a lot of colors but the one I have is just the black one. I bought it used so I cant say on the out of box flaws or anything like that. Overall the looks are alright, similar to last years edition but it still looks great.

Accuracy - Performance
This is a very accurate gun, the consistancy after being tuned and broken in is hitting about 4+/- FPS which is really good in my opinion. The stock barrel is the 14" Dye Ultralite 2-Peice, which is one of the best on the market currently. I have shot a variety of paint through this gun, mostly all have done well. Low grade White Box to Mid Grade Diablo Paint to Tournament Chronic, all of this shot very well, and no breaks in the chamber or anything. As for barrel breaks, the Dye Ultralite cleans out pretty good after a couple of balls and it dosnt happen to much so no worries.

Speed - Performance
Out of the box this gun is jaw dropping fast. It can be tuned for greater speed and same with the trigger. I personally, dont like the UL Frame's Trigger, so I will soon be upgrading to a Critical. The board has a couple of modes and stuff but nothing to special like you would get with a Tadao or a Virtue board. I never find a use for these really. So speed for an average paintballer is definitally ten out of ten.

Feel - Performance
My 07 Ego is lighter than this but not by much. Only complaint with the feel would possibly be the balance of the gun. Basically all spool valves I have used, discluding the Droid, are a tad bit back heavy since thats where everything really is. This isnt anything that will throw off your entire game, just some little thing to complain about. The UL Frame is a personal thing, most people love it, some hate it. I myself think its alright, but I do prefer my Ego's frame and grips over the UL Frame. The trigger guard is a decent size but it could be a lot better.

Sound & Kick - Performance
Both of these out of the box are very low, sounds like puffs of air and feels like it too. The gun has hardly any recoil and can be held steady very easily. After being broken in both of these get a little bit better. Then if you want to step it up another level, go ahead and tune it. Or if you can, take it to a Dye Tech, or any certified paintball tech and they can get your DM7 shooting with supream godly powers.

Efficiency - Performance
Efficency isnt that good, but I have seen a lot worse. Before tuning it I was getting about 3 pods and a hopper which was a bit disappointing, then I just messed with settings and stuff and now im getting about 5 pods and a hopper. So after tuning it is pretty good but before it was bad.

Maintenance - Reliability
The bolt is acessed through the back with an allen key. When getting a Matrix or any spool valve expet their to be a good amount of maintainence involved. There are a lot of O-Rings on the bolt and they all should be lubed after a day of play. Sometimes you can get away without cleaning it, but dont get all pissed off when it messed up and you start having problems. This isnt life consuming, I usually can get it done in about 10 minutes if im focused but it varies.

Bang4Buck - Value
Hell yeah, I wouldnt buy it new though. You can get these for around $600 - $800 used, right here on the nation. Honestly though, I dont find the DM7 to be much different than my DM6. So if you cant afford to take the jump to the DM7 the DM6 would be a great alternative. Great gun, definitally recommend it.

Disclaimer - Please Read
I take time on my reviews to make them honest and non-bias as possible, on most occasions I will spell check them and revise to. The point is I take a lot of time on this and do appreciate good ratings, or bad ratings if you feel it deserves it. Before rating please read the full review and base your ratings on my review and not the gear and my opinions on it, if you do I have no control over that but please do it just to be nice. Dye Precision Dye Matrix 7 (DM7) I love everything about the DM7 except the eye pipes. They break a bit to easily for my taste. For the price you can snag one of these these days, it is hard to beat in the value department.

Pros: Amazing, Smooth
Cons: Eye covers
I love DM's, and this may come across a little biased, but they just seem to be the perfect gun for me. They have always been super smooth when properly tuned, and I have always been able to get enough pods off of a 68/45 with them (anywhere from 6-9 pods).

I prefer them over the NTs because of the ability to adjust the LPR to either set the gun up to run superrr smoooothly or to run a little more efficiently. I personally have not seen an issue that couldn't be fixed by cleaning the gun (and replacing an oring). I've owned over 35 DM's and have NEVER had to replace a solenoid, all the heresay about blowing solenoids is crap. I would recommend these guns to anyone and everyone as they are going cheap on the used market and all shoot like a dream.

I've owned roughly 10 Dm7s and it's a tough matchup as to whether I prefer them over the Dm9 as my favorite. IMHO, those are Dye's best two markers to date. If the Dm7 didn't have the eye plates (I've stripped out a few of them) then they'd probably have my heart.
