I love Halos because they almost never have problems. Rip drives do break pretty easy and they can be heavy with the amount of batteries, but they hardly ever jam and are simple to use. I will probably switch to a Rotor soon because they are just on a different level, but Halos are cheaper and a little more reliable from what I have experienced.

I purchased the Halo V35 from Pev's Paintball, in Rockville Maryland, in addition to a Shocker SFT. The Halo, at the time, was the fastest loader on the market, and the V35 board made it that much more quick. The board is simple enough once you know how to use it, one blink being the slowest speed setting, six blinks being the fastest speed setting. The faster the feed rate, the faster the batteries would drain. On numerous occasions I found it hard to tell if the loader was actually on, and what setting it was on. The loader was slightly on the heavy side with all 6 batteries inside, and the wires had a tendency to pinch together after accessing the battery tray. On my first day of play, I encountered my first problem with the loader. Apparently, Odyssey outfited the newer versions of the Halo with a magnetic lid. The lid was held together by cheap glue, which eventually proved to be no match for the strong magents. The lid would open, but the magents would stay stuck on the body. The first day of play, I had to use a sticker to keep the lid closed. This was quickly fixed the next day by a stronger glue, however, for $135, I did not expect to have these types of issues. The Halo gave me few problems after this, until I broke a ball in the loader, and instantly, the Halo became a paint blender. I had to completely disassemble the loader to clean out what I would not reach with a couple paper towels and a battle swab. Disassembly was easy enough, however, to this day, I can not figure out how to put the thing back together. I have consulted the owner's manual, and the website, however, to no luck! In summary, the Halo V35 is good at what it does, however, is also a complex operation. If you are going to be throwing down your cash, I would recommend a different loader, such as the Viewloader Velocity. After getting so frustrated with the loader, I threw down another 130 to join the Velocity camp, and am a much happier customer!

Pros: Looks, Speed, Lots upgrades, battery life
Cons: heavy, feedneck
Pros:
Looks: A overall good looking hopper, good balance and theres a bunch of different colored/patterned shells out there.
Speed:Good enough for any tournament player, about 25 bps. No need for anything faster unless you want to see how fast your gun can shoot with paint.
Upgrades: The halo has been out for years now, and because of this there are a insane amount of upgrades for this hopper. New boards, battery packs, shells, backplates, and tons of different speedfeeds.
Battery Life: With a fresh pack of AAs I get about 10 cases. Not too bad. Not sure about 9v.
Rip Drive: I've only had my halo jam on me once, and a quick turn of the rip drive in the other way fixed the problem. Also nice if you forgot to change batteries and it dies mid game.

Cons:
Weight: With 6AAs this hopper is pretty heavy. Empire does make a 9v conversion kit so that can take some weight off.
Feedneck: The feedneck and the raceway are together so if you make a bad dive and your halo snaps, not only do you have to buy a new shell, but a new raceway too. I have a crack on my feedneck, but nothing that JB didn't fix . The feedneck/raceway combo also make it really big, so for smaller feednecks, if might be a tight squeeze.

Halos have been the leading hopper for years, and even now with the rotor and prophecy, it can still keep up.

Cons: Eyes die over time, Heavy.
I have owned my halo halo since 2004. i havn't bought a single hopper since then.

The halo is Definately the benchmark for every hopper that gets produced.
Almost half the hoppers that have been made, emulate the halo in one form or another weather it be looks, or functionality.

first the pros:
1.) Capacity- it holds rufly 180 balls. If you say you need more than that you are lieing. any person that shoots with a tsa back man is stupid. 180 is the sweet spot that holds more than any pod could dump into your hopper anyway.

2.) Speed/ Upgradeability- So its not the fastest out of the box. Most upgrades to any other hopper wont give your faster performance. You can mod almost anything on the halo including which way the paddle turns battey kiil switches and even upgradeing the motor for faster overall performance. Don't want to touch the motor get a higher pulley ratio for your belt drive and that will give you a good 5bps jump.

3.) Battery life- Now befor you say " how could you possibly say how long a battery life you can get when there are all these mods that change so many variables" That is a valid point and i can't. What i can say is an unmodded halo with a straight v35 board and lithium ion E2's do get about ten cases a set. if you want more battery info you can check out Deuydogs website and he gives a break down of almost any posible board and battery combo you can think of when the V35 board came out.

4.) Reliability- as a side note to battery life let me say this the halos all come stock(now) with a rip drive so lets say you havn't played in a while and uhoh you left your hopper on the entire time to the point that you killed your batteries. whats more the feild your at only sells 9volts and you dont' have any backup bateries. you still have a functional hopper sure you can't rope on it but the ripdrive will still allow you to use that $120 brick instead of using it as a paperweight for the rest of the day. you spin the rip drive 4 turns and you have 16 balls to fling at the opositon obviously this isn't ideal loading but your not out for the day or going around the feild begging people to use their bak up hoppers that look like they droped out of the car on the freeway.then peiced back together with super glue.

Cons:
1.) Jam code- This and one other short coming on the halo prevent this from being the best loader on the market. You basically have to turn the hopper off then back on again in order for you to clear the jam and when your eyes are getting along in age like mine when you get a jam for some reason every abll after that likes to jam along with it. So you play the entire game again with your handy dandy rip drive flicking it back and forth. but aleast your not using up your precious battery life.

2.) Weight- This is by far the heaviest loader on the market even with its 180 ball capacity no other hoppe come close to the weight of a halo so if you have Fibromyalgia this hopper isn't right for you although now that i think about it you porbably shouldn't play paintball if you have Fibromyalgia.

thats it i give it a 9/10 mainly because of the weight issues. lIke i said the jamming thing can get annoying but w/ the rip drive at least you dont have to flounder around with your hand inside your hopper trying to get the balls to go down the feedneck.

Pros: Looks, Tough, Rip Drive, Fast, Classic
Cons: A Little Heavy, Lid
First let's go to the good parts- The Halo is a really good looking hopper, and has a low profile. One day I was playing woodsball and I shot a Cyclone and an Eye Force, but nobody could hit my Halo. The rip drive also helps a lot, there have been several times that I start a game, and I get to a bunker and remember I forgot to turn the hopper on lol so I used the rip drive until I could turn it on. The hopper can go 35 bps (V35!!!) which is more than enough for anyone, and even though it is fast, it is quiet and very battery efficient. Also, so many teams use the halo that its kind of an icon.

Now to the cons- The Halo is a little bit heavy, but its better than putting a brick on your gun. I think it weighs around 2.5 pounds, but Im not exactly sure. Another problem is the lid... first time I opened it the lid was flapping around evrywhere and clanking and it got annoying, so i just took out the spring, which takes longer to open but it just feels better to me.

Overall, I recommend this hopper to anyone with an electronic gun, and is not as expensive as a VLocity, Rotor, Pinokio, Prophecy, etc...

The Halo was my first hopper ever since I upgraded from the Viewloader gravity feed and that was a while ago otherwise I have used the same Halo since then. With a few upgrades here and there it never let me down. I used my halo with quality paint to crappy paint and also to reballs. I think I must have been lucky though because most people don't recommend to use a Halo with reballs.

Even after all these years it still works flawlessly and is a great option in the hopper department. With how the Halo is designed it can provide very fast feed rates as long as the conditions are right. Disassembling the Halo isn't so much a problem but putting it together sometimes can be and other times it is a breeze. It definitely takes some practice to get it down right.

Overall Halos perform great and can keep up with whatever you throw at it as long as you take care of it and keep the eyes clean. Battery life is pretty good but make sure to replace them since the hopper will experience jams when the battery life is low. The Halo is a great hopper but is definitely on the heavier side and holds a bit less than other hoppers on the market. It is however a great option when it comes to hoppers. There are a lot of options out there for modifications and upgrades as well.

Pros: Fast, upgradeable
Cons: Jam code, assembly/disassembly
Pros -

Drive Cone - With the problems of drive cone tab braking, Kee/Empire hit the lab and came out with the S4 Drive cone, made from impact plastic like that on your car had a reinforced drive cone tap and spring cup tab. It also had a contoured paddle so that it cups the paint making that drive con softer on paint as well. So if you leave the stock drive cone in, it is not going to brake on you any time soon, I've used the same one since they came out almost 3 years ago and no problems.

But the older ones still have the clear drive cone that still had a problem with tabs braking but the newer ones come with a gray S4 drive cone.

Fast - The V35 on this board stands for it's ability to go 35 balls per second. But in setting 6 with 9.6v of battery going to the board/motor, you'll be that 35 for a quick burst for a fraction of a second at the best. It is defentaly faster then the normal Halo Z board. You'll not need a speed higher then setting 4. In this speed setting it will be as fast as the speed setting 6 but with out the pop-corning, so it would lead to a fast as reliable hopper.

Upgradeable - There is a TON of stuff out for the Halo and Reloader B's. Some but not all of these are...

speed feeds, shells, boards, eyes, backplates, drive cones, Clutch kits, anti-jam springs, rip wheels, and much more.

Cons -

Assembly/Disassembly - Like the other reviews I did of the Reloaders it'd be the same thing since the main difference between the 2 loaders is the board and eyes everything else is the same. If you're new to the loader it can be a hassle to assemble the loader and disassemble it. But don't let that get you down or turn you away from this loader. With a little work and being careful you'll get the hang of it and it'll take a short amount of time. The only thing that can be detrimental to this loader is the button braking. It is very hard to replace the button on the boards if it does brake. If you have any questions or need help feel free to IM/PM me or go to http://www.paintballsolutions.com

Jam Code - This in my eyes is the single biggest reason to not get this loader. I know they have many ups but the con of this is that you need to turn it off and on again. It also is given if your batteries are low, eyes are dirty, motor is dieing and everything thing wrong slightly with the loader.
