Pros: Feel, accuracy with good paint, durability, triggr
Cons: Appearance, weight
I love my DM8. I have had it for the last 3 years and have been in heaven. I shoot other high end guns daily and i still always want to return to my DM. It feels amazing in the hands and is just comfortable to no end. When i use good paint i feel with one with this marker and can just one ball all day and get people out. This gun is more durable than any Eclipse in my opinion because it is so well built that any diving or anything you do to it will not even make it flinch. I have known dozens of dye users who have never once messed up their marker unlike other companies whom i have heard durability isnt all there. Sure, the DM8 feels heavier but once you start playing it weighs nothing because it feels so nice when its in your hands and shot. The Trigger is fantastic! You wont have to go get an aftermarket trigger and i have friends with all other types of markers and triggers and they always obsess over my stock trigger being the nicest thing they have shot. Sure, the appearance isnt all that great but the performance stacks up and having the eye pipe inside is a dream!!

It is easy to use/adjust and amazing to shoot. I am sold as a DM user for life.

Pros: Everything
Cons: A few parts because of personal preferences
I have had this gun a year and put at least 200-250 cases through it. The Stock board is exceptional but because of personal preferences I Virtued it. Consistancy is great, I was getting about 1100 to 1200 rounds on my 68/45 untuned stait out of the box. When the new Billy Wing DM9 bolt/can came out I got it and after tuning every little aspect to squeeze out every last shot. Now I get about 1500 to 1600 depending on temp. The frame is fonominal, its comfortable in the hand for long periods of play. The grips on the frame and the reg are soft and just the right amount of stickyness enough to grip perfectly even in the rain. The stock eyes worked perfectly, no need to change them at all, except for personal preferences. So I slapped some Virtue laser eyes in them for that same reason. The entire time the stock eyes were in, about 15 cases, only had barrel breaks (rain) nothing in the breech. The reg is nice and small. Super easy to adjust and maintain. Same thing with the LPR. I have this beauty tuned so nice there's not even the slightest kick. A lot of people have a grudge agianst the trigger, personally it better on this frame than any other trigger I can find. The eye pipe is a treat, the "self cleaning" design is exceptional and the lack of eye plates make the milling look beautiful, Although I did have a problem keeping up with the detents as I cleaned it so as soon as the DM9 eye pipe was available, I snatched it up. No more detent problems now. The on/off plug is a little unessecary I just leave it turned on. Also the on/off asa is wonderful, its a little hard to turn on and off at first, just add a little oil and your ready to go. The elbow fittings are great, just traded them out for black Ninja elbows for asthetic reasons. Over all this gun is AMAZING. Its great out of the box, and with a few upgrades this bird will sing forever. 100 out of 10.

Ok, the dm8 is an incredible gun all around. I tend to like spool-valves because of the shot. Smooth, quiet, and accurate. For starters, dye headquarters is 15 minutes away from where i live, therefore making it very convenient for me to stop by if i ever have a problem with my gun. I've shot dye guns for 4 years, and i must say dye always comes out with a "hit" marker. Unlike other spool valves like luxes, they aren't a "hit" or "miss", dye guns always work perfect AS LONG AS YOU MAINTAIN THEM. It is very important that any dye gun owner cleans and lubes there bolt after every day of play. People complain that dye guns don't shoot well or break, it's because they don't maintain their gun every week. If you clean the gun everytime, it will never disappoint. I personally have not minded cleaning and maintaining my guns at all, which made it so i would never have a crappy shooting dye gun. The only downfall on dye guns is the air efficiency, but that is expected in a spool valve. The thing i love most about these guns are that you can put the worst of paint through it, and it will still shoot it accurately. I had a vicious ego 10 for awhile, and everytime i put white box paint or walmart paint through it, first 5 shots would be chops. I've owned several P.E. markers and all have done this. Bottomline, dye really takes the cake when it comes to an all around great marker.

I had an 2008 Damage DM8 and it was probably one of the best guns I have ever owned. I loved using it in the cold and it could take a beating in the rain.

The only dislike was cleaning and lubing because it required a full strip down unlike an ego where you can just pop the bolt out and go.

This gun was a great back-up once it became a tad dated but still one of the few guns I kept even once it was not being used.

Pros: Sexy milling, comfortable, fast, light(ish)
Cons: Fairly bulky material on top
The DM8 was one of the best guns produced. The milling is sexy and unique, although it did add some extra metal on top which leads to to fairly top heavy compared to other guns.

The DM8 has an eye-pipe that is made to allow the eyes to continue to scan the chamber in the event of a break. This was developed by NXL teams when full auto was allowed. At these high rates of fire it was common for it to happen, before the PSP ROF drop. The pros use to cut part of a garden hose and place them in the barrel, Dye took that idea and put it in this DM8. The eye pipes do crack if you don't know how to put them in properly, but are cheap and easy to do if you read the manual.

The high rate of fire on the DM8 is amazing even with the basic board. Some manufacturers will require that you put a better board to make it shoot well, which is true with most guns. But the stock board is still effective and well made. It allows you to control every aspect of the gun firing. From ROF, Dwell, PSP/NPPL, response, etc.

The kick on the gun is very minimal. As with any LPR gun you must find the right combination between reg and LPR to get the best efficiency, ROF, kick and chrono speed.

The work you put in to the gun, which means research on the manual and proper maintenance of the gun will be repaid to you. There is no need for a second gun when owning this DM8. It will work as long as you clean it.

The DM8 is not the smallest gun out there but, out of the box there is not much you need to do if you want to really throw paint. I played every weekend for a month, then I added a Virtue board and a curved trigger system that had a magnet kit in it. After that the shop I worked at would let me play anymore because I was scaring away the customer. The marker is amazing, and I will say this the tools don’t make that player, the player makes the tools, but this is one hell of a tool!!!
