This isn't a bad marker, but does need alot of help out of the box. The quality is pretty good, with the exception of the screws on the grip frame. You put them on the wrong way and they snap. Make sure to order a parts kit with a few extras.

Empire Battle Tested BT-4 Combatthere are alot of available upgrades for this gun thanks to the picanty rails, very reliable, it is also very simple to take apart and do maintance. can shoot air if desired as well.

Ok i have had this gun for a year now, i have spent around $700 on it not including the original price of the gun. there really isnt much good about the gun, i guess its pretty reliable yea but at the same time not. it doesnt break down but it does chot paint really easily and when u chop paint its useless, even more useless than when its clean. I use mine with compressed air and it still shoots terrible. Now lets go through the cons haha.
Cons:
-heavy
-really inaccurate even with upgrades but the stock barrel is complete garbage
-Costs alot for upgrades (which still suck, ill talk about that after the cons)
-Chops paint easy
-big and in the way
-Extreamely inconsistant even with hpa
Ok, the thing about this gun and other tippmanns in general (because this gun is just a 98 custom with a but different frame) is they cost alot to upgrade but they are still tippmanns if u know what im saying. They still preform really bad. The upgrades are extremely expensive and leave it to Bt to still make crap products. I bought the e-trigger brand new and had big problems from the start. the board is garbage, my dip switch broke off as i first started playing with the settings, which were effed too. it doesnt even have the same settings as in the manual it came with! and sometimes it makes up some ramdom mode! even if i dont touch the switch.
anyways, my final verdict is Just dont buy this gun, its garbage, it shoots terrible and upgrades wont really help and are expensive. Just save up a little more money and buy a speedball gun. but look into it to see what one would be good for u. dont just go to the store one day and buy a gun u know nothing about. look into it first, and dont waste your money on this gun, please.

I purchased my BT-4 Combat from my roommate, used. The first time I used it was at Action Acres. I only had the stock marker, and with just that, I was shooting more straight than my 3 other friends who had upgraded markers. It was so light that I could sprint and dive without problems.
Another great thing about this marker is that it shoots almost every type of paint you can buy, and it shoots it well! I've been purchasing the JT Paint from Joes Sports (liquid gold) for $30.00/case!!! The only paint that has broken in my marker was Core from Splat Action.
I've since purchased a CAR Stock, BTM16 Barrel, Iron Sight, Remote Line and Tactical Flashlight. The marker's still light and looks incredibly sweet. I gave all stats 5 stars because this marker has seriously performed better than expected! Sure, it doesn't spray 25 balls per second, but it gets paint downrange and on target. I highly recommend this marker to anyone who's looking to be in a marksman role or just to have a cheap reliable marker.

Performance: Great marker, shoots fine and will do just what you need it to do. Make that other guy across the field feel your paint.
Reliability: This thing is the same as saying a tank vs a stick. The tank being the BT-4 and the stick being anything mother nature can throw at you, this gun is going to be VERY hard to break unintentionally.
Value: Good price, would be nice if it were $20 cheaper or so but it's still really great. Only thing is buying upgrades and modifications for it is going to be like paying for another marker depending on what you want.
