The Apex barrel allows the player to add adjustable backspin or sidespin to the paintball. This spin imparts a variety of curves to the ball making previously impossible shots possible.
The APEX installs easily as a standard barrel.

I have had this barrel for about 2 weeks and played with it during a 2 day scenario game. It performed tremendously. The price is descent, and i only chopped 1 round when adjusting the curve. The dang thing took almost 5 minutes to unscrew and clean out the apex and clean the break, but then again it was a field strip. I highly recommend this barrel to any person wanting to upgrade their performance.

First off, I didn't pay anything for this. I bought an A-5 off of someone used on the Special Ops forum, and it came with an Apex barrel. In the "price paid" part, I wrote what I sold it for, because PBN will not let me put 0.00 in there.
Pro's:
-"Flatline" or "backspin" effect can be shut off
- tip can be removed and put on a better barrel with an adapter
- allows you to shoot farther
Con's:
- The "curving around a bunker" effect is not as great as it seems, and is almost pointless, although, when set for distance, it works fine.
- Not really (IMO) worth buying
- Not tourny legal
EDIT: I have written a much fuller review, feel free to follow the link and read:

Recommendation:
I really wouldn't recommend it, I owned one for over a year, and I RARELY used the apex. I recommend it over a flatline if you are considering getting it for the range, but I really don't think it is worth it. Just my opinion.

If you expect to shoot around corners, this isn't the answer. If you expect to long ball and out distance every gun on the field, buy the apex.

I played with one of these and had to buy it; but I sold it shortly after.
They're really fun, and they actually work (obviously don't do 90 degree turns, but they curve enough for it to be fun and to confuse people). They're outlawed in tournaments, and take too much effort to aim... so probably only good for scenario play.
Amazing design though.

I got it after a scenario. I always have the problems where if you could only shoot 20 ft farther on a line. I got it for my cocker originally but since the bores so big like .689 the balls roll out. So i returned it for an ion version which rocks.
Contrary to what other people say it does not break paint when yo shoot fast.
The only problem that i had is when its cold it chops like crazy because its basically running into a piece of rubber to hopefully change tis direction so the paint ball breaks. When this happens (very seldom) you have to wash it in order to get good accuracy and distance again.
Basically a all around god product interchangeable between barrels if you want. I think theres also a freak front for it but IDK.

Empire Battle Tested APEX BarrelThe Apex Barrel shoot well and is very accurate. The different ways you can adjust this barrel makes it a very valuable asset on the field.

I have 2 of these 1 on a bt4 ironhorse and its great in that it way outdistanced a flatline but at that kind of range breaks are unlikely. Which makes it ideal for cover fire while your front players move up. I also have one in cocker threads for my invert mini with an Tadao board it also works well for long cover fire shots BUT!!!! at high rates of fire it will just shred paint. For example the bt e trigger i have is caped at 13bps the mini can fire as fast as my halo can feed which the chrno tell me is a avg of 28bps

I've found this product to be quite useful and very fun to use for woodsball, especially when law tree branches prevent long shots. It is simple to adjust and use, even for new players: I lent it to a friend had never played before, and he was able to use it effectively after little explanation.
My only issue is that the barrel it comes on is a bit short for my tastes, and the porting pattern sits rather far back. This is more of a preference issue, however, and has no effect on performance.
