Pros: Mostly Everything
Cons: Not To Much
First off let me state that everything I say is based on the Low End Gun catagory and you can be sure when I say its fast, I dont mean fast as an Ego/Matrix/Shocker/Etc.

Looks - Appearance
It dosnt have a bad look, just kind of normal. If you dont like how it looks there are alot of options. While upgrading performance parts, there are also alot of color choices for the Spyder Series. Also, if you are good with machines you can give your Spyder some nice milling designs or pay someone to do it for you.

Accuracy - Performance
The gun itself shoots straight, the barrel on the otherhand, is not so good. It is like 9 inchs or something, and in my experience, had very bad accuracy. Get yourself a nice 12" or 14" barrel and you will almost be set for a nice cheap marker. I have shot it with most paint and it all shot satisfactory.

Speed - Performance
For being a old, and cheap Spyder it is pretty fast. Stock it goes 13 BPS and has 4 modes. It has Semi, 3 Burst, 6 Burst, and Full Auto. The full auto happens to be pretty slow and will occasionally uncock the bolt. There is a chip that is removeable so it is Semi only if you field will get mad about other modes. You are able to get other boards such as the T-Board and I belive Virtue has one out also, these will help alot. The trigger is 2 way adjustable and isnt that good but it will do.

Feel - Performance
Compared to most markers out, this is pretty heavy, but next to any Tippmann it is alot lighter. The gun dosnt balance out very well either and is back heavy. The grips are very bad, they are just 2 cheap panels that the battery pushs so they are straight on the gun either. You can buy sticky grips which feel really good, to make the gun more comfortable.

Sound & Kick - Performance
Overall this is a pretty loud gun with lots of blowback. Not to many upgrades will actually help this exept for maybe a heavily ported barrel. There is nothing on this marker for it to be tuned either.

Efficiency - Performance
I have not had experience with a CO*2 for about 4 years but I know on HPA it isnt to bad. It lasts a lot longer than my PMR but not near as long as my Ego. So overall this is pretty good.

Maintenance - Reliability
Access to the gun is easy, and everything is pretty straight forward. It also does not require everyday maintainence, just once every 2 times or so. Only complaint is the feedneck, it cant fit on a normal hopper, I suggest getting a clamping feedneck ASAP.

Bang4Buck - Value
This is probably the best gun I would suggest as your first. It can be bought from random people for really cheap, I got mine for $35 which is a steal for what you get. Great normal gun or a reliable backup.

Disclaimer - Please Read
I take time on my reviews to make them honest and non-bias as possible, on most occasions I will spell check them and revise to. The point is I take a lot of time on this and do appreciate good ratings, or bad ratings if you feel it deserves it. Before rating please read the full review and base your ratings on my review and not the gear and my opinions on it, if you do I have no control over that but please do it just to be nice. Thanks - OTEdge

I got mine when it first came out and I still have it because I still love it. It is really upgradable, I've got a redz feed clamp, smart parts progressive, and a scenario dreams t-board in it. The stock gun is what you would expect with a midget barrel and an average board. It is easy to clean and I've never really had to replace anything. It is a bit of a gas hog as well. Its a sturdy little electro and thats all I have to say.

Cons: If used stock.
First if I were rating it in stock form alone it might get a star or two. When in upgraded form though it can make for a nice starter or backup marker. Barrel kit, new feed neck, polished internals, venturi removal, spring kit, and so on are almost a must. In other words it's a gun for folks that like to "fix up" markers. Parts for upgrading are plentiful. Plus it's the only marker I have, other than my PMR(which doesn't count because I haven't got to play with it much), that hasn't chopped a single ball since I've had it. It may be though I got that one in a thousand good one. If your looking for a gun to "tinker" with I'd recommend the Imagine 04'. Oh and one more thing I believe the mill work on the 04' is a bit nicer than most of the spyders from that time frame.

First I'd like to start off by saying this is a beginner's electronic gun. If your looking to play in faster, harder conditions in non-rec fields and tournaments, with more power, etc. then I would go ahead and by a better electronic gun, meaning not a spyder. If your looking to have fun with your friends but have a bit more power then them, this is a fairly nice gun.
Problems I had with it after a while though were it had to be frequently lubed, and it was bad on batteries.
Definitely need a new barrel.
Overall, just get an autococker.

This gun is bad. It has lots of issues, chops balls like a freekin blender, has a horrible barrel, and is generally a quirky gun. I have had to make all sorts of mods just to keep the gun working at all. Yesterday the wires that connect the board to the on off switch came off and I had to use electrical tape and guerilla glue to reattach them and I still don't know if it will work. Also, go MIKE. I love Tech PB

Cons: bad barrel, big time chopper, asa grip
This was my first gun so it wasn't that good. Also this is not tournment grade it chops when shoting 17 bps and its freakin loud. I guy next me had a model 98 and it was like put put put while the spyder was like BOOM BOOM BOOM also the sear on mine wore down so I had to get a new one also the grip on it is really bad compared to my virtue grips on my vibe. I mean it good for the little entry level dude who doesn't know much but for tourny or for 8th year recball its really bad. Another thing is the stock barrel it is like like liike I don't even know what to say. I do not reccomend buying this get a vibe or something. Its called the imagine cause you have to imagine a better gun.

When I went into buying this marker, I heard pretty decent things about it. But when I received mine it already started out leaking. But that was a easy fix. During the first game I played with it, it broke balls like mad, and the ones that didnt break, were going in all kinds of directions. So probably a new barrel would have solved that.

Pros:
-Good quality
-Super upgradable
-Looks good
-Inexpensive beginner electro

Cons:
-Very poor battery life when using anything other than the Java battery
-Loud out of the box

My first foray into Electro-markers... It was good for what it was and, aside from the battery issues, never once let me down. Great beginner marker.
