When i first bought it, the buttons on the trigger couldn't be pressed down, i had to take the sticker off and put electrical tape so i could press the buttons down, but after playing the tape would come off and paint would get inside, i then bought the tadao board and the buttons were a little easier to press but u still had to use ur nail to press them
Also had a problem getting the FPS higher then 230, no matter which way to turned the velocity screw it wouldn't go higher, either way you turned it would go up and down in FPS, you turn it to go higher and it would drop. I could never get it higher then 230. Also i was getting around +/- 10
The twist feedneck would get lose running and diving, you def wanna get a clamping arm feedneck.
you also dont have many upgrades for it, you pretty much are stuck with the stock grips, which wasn't really comfortable for me
Stock barrel is pretty good, but i suggest getting a freak kit, alot more accurate
Also its way too heavy, but a good way to build up some muscle
The trigger is def sloppy, get 1 small washer and wedge it on side and it will be better
I never had a leak so i guess theres a plus
One more thing, after playing once the mirco switch went on me, i had the warranty, i brang it to my shop where i bought it, they called up spyder and said they will ship it, it took them almost 2 weeks to ship and when it was delievered they charged me 25 bucks, the shop guy couldnt believe they charged, but what ever, i bit the bullet
For around 200 bucks you have alot of options in guns, for a year i used this and i won matches, if you get a deal on it, try it out and maybe you will have a different outlook on it

I thought that this was the gun. It looked good, said up to 20 bps. Cool looking feed neck. The board was supposed to be good. The reg looked sweet. The trigger looked nice. Boy was i wrong. ( I love spyderes, dont get me wrong, im replacing this for the 08 electra)
The reg is good, but the grip around it spins. It stinks because you have to hold the gun by the trigger frame not the reg. when your running.
The twist lock feed neck sucks, you have to wrap your feednecks in electrical tape so the twist lock feed neck will hold it snuggly.
The buttons on the back of the board SUCK. I had to take the sticky cover off to access the mode button.
The barrel is great. Enough said.
It def. cant hit 20 bps. It will maybe get 10-15.
The trigger is very ajustable, but hard to walk, its too wobbly for me.
WORST OF ALL- the gun came without ball detents. I dont know how the company can make a mistake that serious, but the balls just roll out of the barrel so i have to return it now.
I really wished it would work out better, but i was very dissapointed, i hope the electra is better,

I bought my RS when they came out new, and out of the box, they have the usual low-end disappointments when they come "feature loaded". The trigger is very sloppy, shimming it and adjusting it properly makes it very nice though. The feeneck is a little cheap feeling, but it works, the twist lock is hard to tighten down though with paint on your hands. The on/off is kind of weak, it doesn't purge or degas till the very end of turning it off, and you have to be careful not to completely screw the knob off.
The rest of the gun is very stout though, set to about 335psi, I've shot over a few cases though my RS and have yet to break a ball in the gun. It shoots very accurately and gets great performance and efficiency on anti-siphoned CO2.
08 Electra is superior by far, but if you can find an RS for a deal, it's a very, very reliable, and well performing blowback marker.

Ok, so the RS and RSX arrived at the shop Monday and I'm still trying to decide if I'm mad or glad. First some recent history. When the VS2 and 3 came out I was kind of excited. I've bad mouthed "sear trippers" from day one but here was Kingman finally making them right. The G3 low pressure balanced valve and lighter weight hammer and true low pressure operation finally justified sear tripping. (And then they screwed everything up by putting out the VS1 - everything that is wrong with a sear tripper.)
But the VS had a dawg ugly, unreliable regulator. So when I got a look at the RS I figured NOW they got it right! I figured just like the VS2 had a G3 balanced valve and regular trigger and the VS3 had the G3 balanced valve and a rocking trigger the RS would have a G3 balanced trigger and stock board and the RSX would have the G3 balanced valve and the Tadao board.
Wrong!
The RS is a VS1 - with everything that makes a bad sear tripper bad. Sure it has "Synergy Engineering", 3 way adjustable trigger, vented on/off, break beam eyes and operates on CO2 or HPA but it has the same old Spyder internals of long ago. 20 BPS.............? Maybe. Long range reliability? I doubt it.
The finish is nice. The milling is actually better than the RSX. Compared to a Proto SLG it is big and clunky and though it's priced about the same it will never compete. Out of the box it comes with parts, tools, a nine point SIX battery and a wall charger that plugs intot he gun (no need to remove the battery).
I've never liked twist lock feednecks so it's gets no plus mark there. The rubber grip spins on the in line reg which is some what annoying but it does let you get it in a position to fit your particular grip. The inline adjusts like the old stock ION reg, requiring a wrench and a hex, which I never liked. Keep in mind this is just to get the reg pressure close. Actual velocity adjustment is a hex nut at the rear.
The quick release bolt pin no longer pulls completely out sending the spring and ball bearing lock flying away. It has a gauge after the inline which is always a plus. The eyes are easy to get to and the rubber ball detents are adequate.
The push button access membrane buttons suck. Sorry. I hope that doesn't cost me a ban but that's as polite as it gets. They are the most miserable buttons imaginable, much like the ION on/off. The instruction manual is a bit of a chore to read.
The ASA on/off is nice. Easy to turn, just a little hard to get to around the hose which of course is metric threaded. The ASA and inline is 1/8 standard so you can replace the metal hose with standard micro fittings and line.
When I went to install the battey I found the wires routed one way in the RS and another in the RSX. On the RS I gad to fish the wires out from behind the capacitor so the battery would fit. On the RSX they were out but just like the RS wires once i fished them out they had to be mashed over to one side so the grip cover would go back on. ALWAYS be careful moving these wires around.
Two modes of operation - semi and 3 round burst. And a bunch of reasons to leave this one on the shelf with the VS1.

Kingman Group Spyder RSJust go this gun a week ago with a tado board and musashi 7 clip put it in and runs like a beast.Allows me to get to 30 bps without chopping paint. But seriously who needs 30 bps besides chuck norris??

I have been playing paintball on and off for 8 years now. I started off with a Spyder Victor II and loved it. Put a lot of coin into upgrading it and kept it as a backup for a long time until a friend of mine bought it. My brother had a Spyder E-99 for a few years as well, until it got stolen. We've had other Spyders and Spyder-clones through the years, even though we 'graduated' to higher-end equipment.
I saw this on AVI a couple weeks ago as a refurbished marker and it was selling for cheap. To be honest with you, even a crappy spider is still going to be worth $55, even if it barely works because I have found through the years they are very simple to fix with a little cleverness and maybe a few extra parts laying around.
Now keep in mind, I bought this marker 'Refurbished' so ...yeah.
First Impressions:
It didn't come with a box or manual(refurbished) but was packaged neatly in a bubble envelope. I thought it was actually a pretty decent-looking spyder, to be honest with you. I like the matte black appearance, compared to the glossy hue of most of the older Spyders. It had nice lines and seemed to be pretty sturdily built.
1) .. One of the things I did notice from the get-go was that the cover over the regulator spins around. This may or may not be a big deal, I think it would be better to have one that could be set-screwed in, but it really isn't a huge deal to me.
2) .. Another thing was the horrible buttons on the back. I couldn't even press them in when I got it. I shimmed them out and then decided that, honestly, they work better if you take that sticky membrane cover off. Much easier to get to and operate.
3) .. I am not sure how it could possibly be legal to produce a marker with as much play in the trigger as this one has, but it has to be one of the worst I have ever used. It was, however, easily fixed by a washer on one side of it. After that, it adjusted very well to be a very tight trigger pull. But honestly, it should never have been that loose to begin with.
4) .. And finally, the feedneck. It's not HORRIBLE, but I really don't see why it is so hard to include a clamping feedneck on a marker. Even with a decent plastic collar and lever would be better than just about any twist-lock feedneck. My Halo B doesn't even fit in it tightened. I have to shim the feedneck on the hopper with some duct tape to get it to tighten up. If you are going to use a twisting feedneck, in inside of the feedneck should be ribbed or something to keep the hopper from spinning, not smooth.
Performance:
Laughable out of the box. I don't necessarily attribute the entire line of RS's, but this one in particular. I am pretty sure someone bought it and didn't know how to clean/maintain/service it and returned it. Before I ever took it out to the yard to test it out, I stripped everything out of it. Bolt, Striker, Valve and even stripped the reg apart and cleaned it. When I first got it, the bolt wasn't even pinned into the striker like it is meant to be.
For the most part, the internals look just like every single other Spyder I have ever used. Very simple and easy to work with. I kind of dislike that there is no more quick pin at the back to remove the striker, but I can deal with that, as it won't need to be fixed often, being a workhorse an' all. Whomever had it previous used grease on the bolt and on the striker, and that's usually a no-no for Spyders. I cleaned them, used PE oil and put everything back together without ever needing to consult a manual. As I said, very easy maintenance.
With everything back together, I took it out, put the duct-taped halo on and gassed it up to try it out. First thing I notice, it was cranked up to almost 450psi to start and still only able to pop off at about 250FPS. NOPE, that won't do at all! I pop a few more rounds off to make sure and see no real improvement, even with the velocity adjuster turned all the way in.
Taking my vast knowledge of modifying Spyders, I set to fixing things. I had a few spring kits, so first I tried to use a heavier spring at the back. I saw no more than a 10FPS improvement. Replaced the spring in the valve as well and saw maybe a 2-3FPS improvement. Now, that's doable, but this is supposed to be an efficient marker so I took what I have done before in previous Spyders. I put a shim in with the rear spring.
NOW we're talking. 310FPS. I turned the reg down to about 325 to 350psi and got this little baby shooting pretty nice at 275-280FPS over the crono. I put a few hundred balls through to test and make sure everything was working well. No breaks or chops. The stock barrel is not too inaccurate, honestly. It could use an upgrade but for a backup/loaner marker I can live with it how it is.
Final Thoughts:
I wasn't expecting a whole lot out of this marker when I ordered it. It took a little bit of tender, loving care to get it working to a proper standard, but it did get to working properly. The eyes seem to work well, and that's about all I can say about it. The board is ridiculously simple, probably a little bit too simple. But being that this is a backup, I can live with Semi and 3-Round Burst only. I never shoot anything but Semi, anyway. It's got a good bit of weight to it, but I would prefer that over a Tippmann. There are many other markers out there that are better, but for a good price and with a little bit of a mind to tinker, this can make for a fantastic little marker for someone starting out or if you want something to loan out.
Recommended Upgrades:
1) Feedneck - Get that twist-lock out of there.
2) Board - The stock board is way too simple. Need something slightly better.
3) Barrel - The stock barrel is not bad, but certainly there are better.
And that's about it. The regulator isn't too bad as far as consistency and the ASA On/Off works well enough.

Well out of the box this gun was great for a low end electronic marker, on my first outing with the gun i went to the crono and it was only shooting about 210 FPS well i made some adjustments and the gun topped out at 260 + / - 5 which kind of bothered me but i can live with that. Well in was trapped at a bunker and i was snap shooting for a couple of mins with this gun raised and my arm was killing me b/c of the weight of this gun big downfall, also i was trying to walk the trigger and that can be a little harder b/c of the wobbly trigger. Then wala i had a ball break pulled the pin swabbed the barrel replaced the bolt and i was back in the game which thats a good thing. Gun was also shooting very accurate with mid grade paint (NIGHTMARE). OVERALL FOR $169.00 YOU CANT BEAT THIS GUN.
